This is a thread to discuss the potential future captains of your country.
E.g
Flintoff was recently bestowed the honor ahead of Strauss.
Meaning that Freddie would lead them in the future.

I'd like the members to look beyond the current vice-captains of their nation and you ppl can consider the U-19 players as well.

Kaif for India
Mushfiquar Rahim for Bangla
Taylor(Currently Duffin) for Zimbabwe
Jayawardene for Lanka
Clarke(?) for Australia
Malik(?) for Pakistan

India- Yuvraj
Pak - Salman Butt
SL -Maharoof
Engl - Freddie/Strauss
Austr-Hussey
SAF -Gibbs

India - Yuvraj Singh
Pakistan - Kamran Akmal
Sri Lanka - Sangakara
England - Flintoff
New Zealand - Vettori
Australia - Michael Clarke

I think Andrew Strauss is the ideal captain for England, not Andrew Flintoff.

Clarke will be the next captain of Aus, Hussey is about Ponting's age so they would leave at around the same time.

I have never seen Andrew Flintoff as a captain figure, Andrew Strauss has experience at Middlsex. I can't see Freddie doing anything like he did last year again with the pressure of captain on him too.

Sticking my neck out, I think Ian Bell will captain England one day. Not next, and maybe not even the one after, but someday.

When it comes to India, I think the Indian selectors have Sehwag strongly in mind. But Dravid has captaincy till WC2k7, and if he is still in great touch then, Sehwag may never get his chance. :)

Yes I agree with FF, I think Ian Bell will be captain one day. The next England captain after Vaughan will probably be Trescothick for a bit until he retires, then Flintoff or Bell.

SAF -Gibbs

To be honest, I don't think they'll be sacking Smith anytime soon, he's only 24 and has shown leadership qualities, where Gibbs is much older and hasn't.
