Not sure about this time around, but I think when I did a Science module last June, I got the result when coming back after the holidays.

Just been on the edexcel website - surprisingly their servers could cope with the load of loads of students logging in - and even more surprisingly, I have got two more A*s in Music and History.

So far, so good - why don't the other exam boards not do an internet results service?

Well this is what he wanted

I've predicted what I'll get over at my blog, and I can't be bothered to type it out all again here! It came out as 5 A*s and 5 As which would be OK, but I'd ideally like a few more A*s than that!

So I'm guessing he didn't get it

Yeah - did get an A* in history which was a bonus, but dropped to a B in English Lit. I did have a bad cold that day and infuriatingly it seems that I was 2 marks below an A in the Drama paper and 3 marks below in the Poetry and Prose paper. All together it seems that I was 3 marks off an A. Maybe a remark will do the job - I really hope so, otherwise I'll resit it in January.

You'll be fine. Perhaps I am overreacting regards the B, but I had my heart set on all A*s and As. I need to go back into school and speak to somebody about remarking/resitting as nobody was there when I arrived.

Why would you resit because you got a B? It woud have very little effect and concentrating on your AS levels would probably be a lot wiser. Just my opinion though you do what you feel is best

Fair enough. I have heard from someone who was at my school and jumped from a B to an A* in a remark, so in a best case scenario, the remark will get me up to an A and then I can forget about it.

Lots of people have been saying that our year is the first that GCSEs are more important, just below AS levels and A level predictions for universities. That could be a load of crap though.

Nah GCSEs have alwas been considered by university's. Going on how it worked for my year, as long as you have good predictions, those grades would probably get you an offer from most uni's in the country

I was hoping for clean A*, I can't believe it. It's still alright, I suppose...

Well pretty good for me really. Wasn't nervous at all as I was pretty confident of getting what I wanted. Here's what I got:

Science - BB (Happy with that)
Maths - B (Disappointed to not get an A)
English - B (Really happy with a B)
English Lit - C (Expected)
Drama - B
Graphics - C (Happy with it although I feel I had better coursework than a C which was what I was given)
PE - A (Really happy, must have done quite well on the test)
History - B
ICT Short Course - C
German - D (Knew I may not get a C but with two C's in the Reading and Listening sections I'm happy with that)

Overall very pleased
