GCSEs

Yeah. How do you revise for English Lit ?? I know my novel inside out (Catcher in the Rye), and I have a good understanding of all my poems. I've done loads of practice papers too. I'm just wasting time now.

I know. Its just like you cant revise. I am doing AQA Anthology course. Like the Prose section and Heaney and Clarke from Post 1914 and Pre 1914 poems... I know the poems fairly well, especially the key ones and Prose too. I mean we cant learn how to be good writers can we? its just the thing you have or you dont.

I really hate the poems part. Its more of how much you have to do in like 50 minutes. Literally you have to compare 4 bloody poems picked from both sections. I mean how the hell can you write an absolute comparison of 4 poems at same time in 50 minutes. Dam

any tips on how to write a good response?

Well, this is how I go about it and it works for me. If you're asked to compare 4 poems with each other, write about one poem first. Then write about the next poem, comparing it with the first poem, and some aspects about the other two. Then write about the third poem, and so on.

You're advised to spend an hour on it. Aim for at least 2 sides of A4.

the problem for me is, i blab on too much about them and struggle to finish them in time. Maybe i should cut the too much of the writing and just stick to general similarities/differences..

@Adarsh, Yeah mate thats what i do too, like write about one at a time otherwise it gets too confusing..

well what i do is compare the 1st one and the 2nd one...and than compare the 3rd and fourth...works for me...

My teacher told me that if you're running out of time, skip straight to the conclusion.

that might be me then.. Oh God i so hope they choose the poems which arnt very long and to the point.

My next exam is on the 4th of June. I'm sh*tting myself with Maths

lol same here, Maths and Geo papers 1 on same day. Dam
the next day tech and next Sci 1... o man i am gonna be dead

Anthology was hard! I don't even understand the language of pre-1914 poems! so how can i identify how the poet makes us feel!?

i foudn it pretty easy actually, i use to struggle on pre 1914'z but i did my stuff and the poems made loads of sense for me and i did the 1st question on that which had 2 parts about the endings

'On my first sonne' i struggled with. did you do that poem?

the year8's are doing moc gcse's at our school!

Finished all my 17 exams in one month, now i have my last one left which is Chemistry which i have on the 31st of May. :) Till now the easiest i found was Paper 1 for Geography and Biology Paper 3. The Hardest i found was bloody Math.. so annoying!
