Has anyone encountered these problems?

First its a missing texture issue.

ok, im on a geforce 4 4200 titanium 64mb with the latest signed drivers and the latest direct x, p4 2.8, xp, all that nonsense. Now when i play a 4 or 5 day match and i save the game at around 3 days old (or whenever there are distinctive foot marks) and i then come out of the game and then reload i get orange rectangles with "missing textures" written in them in the places where the footmarks were.

I`m pretty sure this is a bug and nothing to do with my system because i have played a 4 day match throughout without saving and reloading specifically to see if the problem cropped up and it didnt.

Anyone got any ideas??

Second is a controller issue.

I`m using the logitech dual action (which is recommended by the game) and every so often the number 2 button wont progress the game between deliveries forcing me to put up with all the cut scenes, which is a real pain in the poo chute.

Again, if anyone has any ideas??

Yeah, re the missing textures orange rectangles I get that too (Geforce ti4400 128mb). I just have to quit and reload, sometimes up to 3 times, and then it'll be OK.
Possibly a Geforce problem?

Nope i get this with my brand spanking new Radeon X800SE. And this babys GPU is overclocked to 500Mhz.

Nice one bud, i`ve only tried reloading once, i`ll give it a go.

P.s. you must be buzzing that Andy Johnson has signed on.
By the way I`m a PNE fan :D

You're playing with fire! Literally. Why do you need to overclock such a powerful card anyway? Certainly not for Cricket 2005! :what

 . I've been out all day, (Brighton of all places), so hadn't heard. I had to check the Palace websites to check you weren't winding me up ( ;) ). Great news :happy :cheers .

Btw, good luck to PNE this season :)

Well it has the same fan as its big brother and its good for overclocking. I just scored 4000 points on 3D Mark 2005. :)

Thanks mate. good luck to you boys too, although with a goal machine like andy, I dont think you'll need much luck. The buzz that will be going through the club now he's signed will be worth a few points.

I overclocked my X800 as well, not a good thing 3 weeks later massive crashes alround. The heat was just too much.

I got a X600 built into my laptop with 128mbs of Ram and the game runs fine, I havent encountered any problems.

I think this "Missing textures" is the same thing that we saw in Cricket 2002 when you had broken lines going across the page, but since this game was designed differently and based on directx9 instead of the stuff ups you get MISSING TEXTURES displaying.

I would try and experiment with different drivers and try some really old ones and see if that makes a difference.

I'm using old drivers atm on my Geforce 4400ti (Omega KX1.4523a) and they definately make my games run the best.
In my experience all this business about updating to the latest drivers when you install a new game is rubbish. I've done this when I installed PES4, Call of Duty, Brothers in Arms, Top Spin and now Cricket 2005 and everytime the game runs poorer, so I always end up reverting back to the trusty old Omegas :) .

That's fair enough but I got a performance boost of roughly 700 points in 3D Mark 05 when I upgraded from Catalyst 5.5 to 5.6! :D

And what do you score without overclocking? Are you using Catalyst 5.7 drivers?

Don't know mate will run a test sometime without overclocking. Im using cat's 5.7.

Further to this conversation i changed the clock speeds to 475/450.

I think that's a sensible move. I overclocked a card once and all seemed to be going fine for a few weeks and then I thought, "Ok, been there, done that" and slowed it back to standard. A few weeks later, the machine was crashing and overheating every five minutes. D'oh!! Now that machine makes a nice ornament in the corner of my room. A reminder, if you will, not to play with fire! :crying
