hauritz shouldnt play north katich and clarke can all bowl as good as him and stuart clark should of had a wicket yesterday but haddin dropped the catch (wasnt easy but should of been taken)

It will play in hand of England if Hauritz plays. He is no where better than the part time spinners Aussies have. Stuart Clark does better job of holding one end up better than Hauritz can do. Never in his career Clark has been taken apart by anyone.

The only thing going in favour of hauritz is the fact that Ponting has been bordering the line with regards to over rate for last 2 years.

Hauritz is a joke and pretty much sums up the whole shambles of a national selection panel we have. The guy has never been first class standard and yet is playing tests. At best he should be ODI specialist. I can't see any other country picking him, even the ones generally lacking a really good spinner (Windies, SA). It's what you call playing a spinner for the sake of playing a spinner.

When it's turning, yes he should. He has a very respectable test record, average around 30 and has done everything required of him when picked. He will surprise the English batsmen just as he surprised the Indians in his debut and the South Africans last year. How bad did Krejza look in the tour matches in India? The fact is, Hauritz has proven he is capable of both being tidy at one end and taking wickets. He should play at Cardiff, and we'll take it from there.

I think you ment Krejza Dean. Because Hauritz played against India in 2004 and that;s long time ago.

Hauritz' Test record is massively exaggerated by 1 game in the Subcontinent where he picked up a few wickets but didn't actually bowl that well. He picked up a few tail enders in the first innings, and although he picked up Tendulkar in the 2nd it was not by good bowling but more the Krejza-effect where Tendulkar was slapping him around the park and then unluckily got a top edge which was caught by Clarke. He then picked up a massively out of form Laxman, who had punished him earlier in the piece as well.

If Hauritz continues to play Test cricket his average will rise to far closer to his FC record, which is a fair reflection of his abilities. A handy OD bowler with the white ball, but I've seen nothing from Hauritz that seperates him from the likes of North and Clarke.

If it's turning then no doubt, because we can't rely on Katich, Clark and North. Otherwise I would give the other spot to Lee after his performance.

Seeing how much Johnson and Lee went for, it would be a real risk taking Hauritz especially if England want to attack him. If that was the case then Siddle is the only bowler that Ponting could turn to stop the flow of runs.

maybe you guys should bring Bryce McGain back. Pretty please?

You wish ;) He would be even more of a risk than Hauritz which I didn't think I would be saying. Hauritz has the ability to keep it tight although how tight he keeps it is another question.

tbf to the lad he might do a lot better if Ponting had any idea how to use him.
