help!! game runs too fast

what is the cost of a better graphics card (ie much better)
Depends if you're a serious gamer or not- if you only want to run games like Cricket 2004 at a good resolution, you can grab something cheap for around $100 AUD (which will still be many times better than what you have)- if you are looking to play games like Half Life 2 then a good one will be around $3-400 AUD

Do you know if your computer has an AGP slot or not? If it doesn't then you won't be able to upgrade to any really good graphics card.

btw, the graphics card that you have now is integrated into the computer's motherboard, meaning that it steals 32MB of your RAM- you probably actually have 512MB rather than 480

ok thanks explains a lot...i thought it was 512...and anyway im no serious 'gamer' by any means, i just love my cricket:)

how do I check that?

as you can see, im not pretending I know a lot about computers;)

My card cost me 50 quid, although that was 2 years ago, and that plays the game just fine. Check if you've got an AGP slot first though.
pounds?

And almost anything will play Cricket 2004 fine anyway, the GeForce 4 I used to have ran it fine at 1024x768, and they're only $50 over here now

EDIT: Well if you've got a pre-built computer (from Dell/HP etc) just give me the name or model number and I can find out for you

intel celeron 2.40 ghz
I meant the actual computer itself, like for instance Dell has Inspiron 7600 and things like that, because you can get the specs off some websites if you know what model it is. If you don't know that, then download this, open up mainboard once you're in the program and see what it says next to model

mmm i know it but just can't remember...also i have dial up so will take a fair while for me to download...anyway im off but cheers for the help:)

i might get back on this case in the morning...

Have a look through these

All through the search tool, we'd appreciate it if you could use that before you post, to see if your question has been answered.

You can try changing the detail settings, changing AA or resolution, or if none of that works use !xspeed to slow down the game

Thanks for that but not quite sue what you mean. The link you gave says nothing found. What do you mean by AA? Sorry to be a pain. Was happy when I saw the number of replies, thought I'd get it sorted but my original question has been ignored and people are now discussing graphics cards!!!

tried but no luck

tried changing aa to max (6x) and also changed settings of the game to max settings but still hardly any change in running speed. what was the !speed program that was mentioned and how do I get it? Thanks, hopefully soon I will be able to enjoy the game

i have exactly the same problem with my computer. I have a laptop which everyone at my school has to have and the same thing happens on all of our computers so we worked it out so that if you have your battery charged fully and have a charger in it works at a normal speed, i dont know if this helps but a better graphics card wont help

battery on mine is fully charged and with or without charger in it still plays fast......i'm getting pretty depressed with it now....wanna play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
