HEX Editing

Does anybody know how to hex edit the exe file. i want to rename some of the teams in my game and i am unable to run the game after it has been hex edited.

Chances are that like C2k4 you have to edit the .gob as well. I've not looked yet.

i have found the .gob files but can i edit them straight from the hex editor? if not can you tell me how to access them please
