How to catch?

Been playing this game for quite some time on career mode (xbox). I still have no idea how to get a caught and bowled for my player. Has anybody else had this issue? I have tried pressing multiple buttons to no avail. No reflex catching, nothing. The ball will just lob up to my player, hit him in the chest or go past and my player does absolute nothing.
Does anybody have a solution to this? Is this a known bug?

to me, most of the time they just automatically catch it, without the quicktime. sometimes i've seen the catch gadget come up but without enough time to do anything. for him to be getting hit on the body, your dude probably needs way better stats.

Hmm... It's possible. In terms of the fielding stats, my player has 60-70s across the board. Do I need numbers in the 90s or something? You have actually been able to see the reflex catching thing come up in career mode?

There is bug with caught & bowled doesn't work at-least in career mode.

yeah maybe career mode is just really broken
