As there is no other way to modify the game memorty, there is a tool called TexMOD which helps you to do this.

You can download TexMOD from Here

Now lets come to installing patches, which usually are in TPF format for TexMod.

Run TexMOD.

In the "Target Application", click the folder icon (on the top-left) and then browse your Ashes Cricket 2009 EXE (Cricket2009.exe).

Now, select "Package Mode" to install the patch/patches.

Now click the small folder icon and browse to the patch in TPF format. After you load it, you will be able to see the patch's name under "Package Name".

Select the package you wish to and then Click on "Run".

This will run you game.
After this, you can close the TexMOD .

Note: This is a temporary change, and you will have to run TexMod and follow the same steps again to run the patch.

If you wish to run the game without any patch, then start the game normally (without TexMod)

As there is no other option rather than modifying the game memory by hooking the Direct3D and wrapping the textures , there is a tool TexMOD which allows you to do this.

You can download TexMOD from Here..

Now coming to Installing Patches, which is usually the TPF files in case of TexMOD.

Now, run TexMOD.

In the target application, click the folder icon and then browse your Ashes Cricket 2009 Executable that is Cricket2009.exe.

Now, select "Package Mode" option as now we are simply Installing the patches.

Now click the small folder icon and browse the required ".TPF" mod package file. After you'll load it, you will be able to see the name under "Package Name".

Select that package and then Click on "Run".

This will run you game. You can close the TexMOD .

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CHANGE IS TEMPORARY AND YOU HAVE TO RUN THE GAME THROUGH TEXMOD AFTER FOLLOWING THE ABOVE STEPS AGAIN WHENEVER YOU WANT TO USE MODS.

@WHM.
Yup mate I know that, and so its your wish to do it or not, as very few people use demo now.
Cheers

There is little point to this as a far better one exists on the original site. And I doubt that you have obtained the permission to redistribute the tool.

abba, is there any news on your patching of the game. are we going to get something soon

Please write your own. Dont copy from other sites.

Other Sites? :rtfl

Okay, in my quest to find an explanation for Hitterman's inexplicable feat I found a tool called TexMod that already does most of the things that I was trying to accomplish. TexMod lets you extract the textures from the game. It was made for Tomb Raider but apparently works with other DirectX 9 based games too. It can be downloaded here. And a tutorial is available here. I tested this with the demo and it does work. It should work with the full game as well.

AbBh added 9 Minutes and 38 Seconds later...

I take that as an insult :p. Everything is possible with reverse engineering. I'll try my best but it'll be harder than cracking EA's games.

ABbh was the source to spread the information about Textmod long ages back!

Anyways, it's a well known fact that Abbh and few others are finding a way to get a break through in patching. This text mod is no more going to be useful for the full game which is another well known fact. Hence " Tutorial : How to install patches " will just lead to speculation of patch making.
Discuss it about getting a breakthrough in patch making? Discuss it here,

Got any breakthroughs? Go ahead and post here.
