Story ICC Knockout Tournament [c2005]

:ICC today announced that there will be a Knockout tournament to be take place in South Africa and Zimbabwe combindly.ICC admitted that since there has been a long time and a Knockout cup has not been organised so they have decided that this time it must be done.
There will be 8 teams playing in this tournament and no team will get a second chance as it will based on knockout basis. Satish AI Extreme patch v.4 will be used for this tournament.


So Stay tuned for the teams to be announced. Of cource, India will be there as my team.

The reporter of TOI today took Rahul Dravid's interview before leaving the Indian team for South Africa.......

You have been consistently finishing games for India. What kind of mental recalibration have you done to your batting?

I have had to change my approach a little bit. Now terms are paying more attention to the way I play. In the last game, I went in with a few balls left and had to go for everything. Some games you go in with three quick wickets down and need to rebuild the innings.
You have to play according to the situation and adapt quickly. It's different from when I used to go in at number three. There I could set the situation. Here the situation is dictated and takes a bit of adjustment

Any special strategy for the first match against New Zealand?

Well NZ is a good team having talents like Mcmillan, Sinclair and Vettori who
have the ability to take the match away from any team. So our first idea will ofcource be to stop their batting attack and play sensibely against their balling attack according to the situation

Yuvraj has done well for the team.

He has been fantastic and batted well under pressure. It is terrific for someone so young and in his 5th year of international cricket. His batting under pressure has been a revelation. He is a great sign for the future. He had a tough time after a sensational debut and expectations were high and people expected him to perform every time.

On your own batting?
I am satisfied with my batting

Sachin is back now. Will this help to increase the confidence of the team?
It's fantastic to have him back . It's not easy to come back after four-and-a-half, five months out of the game. Physically also, it's tough on you. I think,as always, his presence will increase the team?s confidence

Is Ganguly playing?

Yes, of cource.Its good to see him back

As you know that no team is going to get a second chance in this tournament, is the team tensed?Oh no, not at all. We are having a strong team and our boys are in full spark to win this tournament without losing any match.
