Agree with Sohum, from an academia perspective, you increase your chances on getting onto a masters programme (with funding) abroad. I studied my masters here in the UK with quite a few IIT graduates who came over from India. The majority of them went onto get some decent jobs in industry, and having chatted to them, it was their masters that the employers were more interested in (in some cases completely over looking the IIT degree). If you do come abroad, just don't be too naive and expect everyone to know the value of an IIT degree.

They do produce some quality graduates though, so best of luck with it all -- competition is obviously going to be tough, so don't be too harsh on yourself if you don't make it...

Nah I think IIT is harder. MIT does take a lot, funds wise. Although both of them are one of the best institutes in the world.

MIT is the hardest to get into though. You need a be a well-rounded person to get in, grades are not enough. That part sucks, pretty much screws up any shot I have

Don't really know for Kanpur but they say under 50 for Computer Science at Bombay.

Read a lot more about campuses, syllabi and I'm salivating seeing the courses in the Computer Science and Engineering Department. Only problem is, IIT Bombay its over under 49 rank, Delhi around 90, Kanpur 127, Kharagpur 338.. etc. Roorkee and Guwahati have more breathing space but lesser value relatively...

Only 3 months left to prepare now though! And I haven't really got much of my course covered...

Though, I am preparing for Medical, I'll be giving AIEEE and IIT-JEE. I took maths for the same reason. Though I don't have any hope from IIT, I might clear AIEE. My maths sucks TBH.

I am targeting DPMT. AIIMS is too tough for someone like me. I go to Aakash for pursuing the same and am part of the batch of excellence.

Yeah, I go to Brilliant...

There's no such "clearing" AIEEE btw. You get a rank, then according to that rank you apply in Colleges. There are a LOT of colleges affiliated with AIEEE.

Yeah, my Maths isn't that good either, and that's very unfortunate.
