Eagerly waiting to see Umran and Kuldeep bowl in tandem much like Wood and Leach did in the ongoing Test between England and Pakistan or even Lee and Warne from the yesteryears. An out an out fast bowler and a spinner bowling at almost half the speed of the pacer is challenging as it gets. Kuldeep, left arm chinaman variety will only add to it.

Ishan missed out on a triple that was there for the taking.

Should have sent Afif or Mehidy instead of Mushfiq.

Rishabh Pant to open the innings for India in ODIs, in the WC because he needs to be force fitted into the side somehow :rolleyes:p

Slam dunk Ishan Kishan!! He just ruined Pant and Dhawan’s career with that innings. His hitting was there for everyone to notice, but only Pant came to the eyes . Ishan is far more clean and neat in technique. Ishan-Gill or Ishan-Shaw will be the future. (Fingers crossed)

I would say they should have taken a chance with Yasir. There is nothing to lose for Bangladesh in this chance (except for the match) so might as well give the confidence to Yasir and ask him to bat deep and show his skills, something that he hasn't been able to do thus far.

And he walks in. Golden opportunity for Yasir.

Shaw and Kishan will be one hell of a combination to watch

I hope the selectors take a cue. Ishan ALWAYS had better technique for ODIs than Rishabh. I would say Gill and Ishan is a better combination. Nothing against Shaw but much like Pant, there is no method to his madness. He tries to do a Sehwag but for him to emulate that, he needs to play long innings consistently. 20 ball 30s won't help Prithvi's case for ODI slot I think.

Nah, even if Yasir struggles today, the management is right in giving him a fair chance rather than sending him when there is nothing left for him in the chase and then suddenly drop him (if they are thinking of it given his poor ODI record so far).

If they both get going, yes. Otherwise it would more or less starting the innings with one wicket down if not two. They haven't been as consistent as much as Gilly or Viru who applied similar tactics back in the day. With due respect, remember how Baz would go full monte from the first ball but other NZ batsmen were unable to capitalize as he fell more often than not.
