Champions! What a great couple of years we have had. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2014-15, Vijay Hazare Trophy last year and now the big one. Its been a truly amazing turnaround for a team that was relegated to Plate Division in 2011-12 which meant we were not even in top 15 teams five years back! Parthiv deserves major credit to leading the team to this turn around constantly trying many youngsters and not afraid of letting the newbies in at the crucial juncture like Gaja who picked up 5 wicket haul in the second innings of the final or keeping out players like Ishwar and Mehul despite the absence of Bumrah and Axar. Mumbai had their chances and could have won the match if they held on to the chances that were given to them by Gujarat. Spilling of few catches are important junctures and Iyer throwing his wicket away when Gujarat were looking down and almost out are a few examples. Axar and Bumrah's re-entry to the team along with Ishwar and Mehul will only strengthen the Gujarat team.

TBH, cricket in Gujarat, the state (which includes teams from Gujarat, Baroda and Saurashta) has been amazing in last 5-10 years. We have produced plenty of players in recent times of high caliber and many have played for India as well. Hopefully this will do to Gujarat cricket what 1983 WC win did to Indian cricket.

Saha is good keeper but batting is not consistent. BCCI should try beyong Saha & Parthiv. Pant is best choice to try against Bangladesh.

Does he keep well? I'm asking because I've not watched him play.

He's player like Gilchrist, de Kock, deVilliers.

A little to early too make that comparison, isn't it? Especially when you're combining three players into one.

Yes. He does. He's player like Gilchrist, de Kock, deVilliers.
AB is nowhere near in the league of Gilly and even de Kock as a keeper but if you are pointing about their batting, thats a huge call. If you mean Pant is an aggressive batsman who goes after the pace bowlers from the word go, I'd compare him Parthiv Patel at the moment. Parthiv too have similar way in batting if Pant is really like Parthiv with better glove work, I'd love to see him play for India in ODIs particularly.

Absolutely, he is just 19. There are people around who can do the job. It was unnecessary to name him the captain even though he held led U-19 side in the past.
He didn't. If you are talking about WC, then Ishan Kishan was the captain.

Yeah Ishan Kishan only captained the India U-19 Side in the World Cup.Prior to wc Rishab Pant was the captain and was supposed to lead the u 19 side something went wrong (actually i remember reading the news in toi before the world cup).
