Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Well, the other KkR is out today so Kings congratulations on the win already :lol

Few baffling decisions today, Nagarkoti sent above Ferguson and Cummins? 9 overs 90/4 and 19 overs 140/8, so 10 overs 50 runs, really not acceptable. Gill should have kept hitting and denying single to Ferguson made no sense at all.

Kings XI is doing a 2015 Mumbai here... Don't be amused if they went on to win this one!

Punjab to win the trophy? I am backing them to do it!!

Looks like Rohit Sharma is out of the IPL and also out of the entire Australia tour. Very disappointing to hear from an India perspective. How it affects MI will be seen in the playoffs. It would be weird if Rohit now comes out and plays for MI after being ruled out of the Australia tour

Well said... And, I don't understand this. If he's fit enough to train for Mumbai Indians, how is he NOT fit enough to tour Australia?

Does this mean that Rohit Sharma has been dropped from all the squads that will be touring Australia? I mean, he's a white ball legend (IMO) and if he looks like how it is in this above Instagram video, he should've been picked for the ODI/T20 squads. And isn't he a test opener now? I find it interesting that somehow the fortunes align in his favor making him skip overseas tests and thereby not face the heat at the top of the batting order on bowler friendly conditions.

Something doesn't feel right about this entire episode! Or, did Rohit lose out on a place because of his recent increase in bodyweight? That'd be very interesting. But if that's the case, how did Rishabh Pant find a place in the test side despite looking even more flabbier than Rohit (and at a smaller height)?

Not the one believing in conspiracy but with people asking for Rohit to take over as a captain post 2019 WC, and now KL Rahul as the vice captain, something does feel fishy.

Given how eerily similar Rahul seems to be to Kohli as a captain, I wouldn't want him as the deputy long-term.

Gayle's been a huge factor in helping this side mentally at the very least if not as a player. The team just seems to be a bit more confident with him out there. Mayank was the hero of that double superover with his boundary save and finish but I doubt they would have sealed it in the second innings had it not been for Gayle casually tonking a six on the very first delivery. They still need a couple of holes fixed if they are to seriously challenge for the title with Maxi being the first obviously. Where does Mandeep factor in the team now too? He has a fifty as the opener, a quickfire thirty as the number three and right now those slots are occupied by two guaranteed first-team players. A return to the natural number four role for him with Pooran playing as an all-out hitter at five? I wouldn't mind seeing this going forward.

Rahul
Mayank
Gayle
Mandeep
Pooran
Neesham
Jordan
Shami
Bishnoi
Arshdeep
M Ashwin/Porel

I can't believe what I read there. This does not look good. Have India decided to move on from him? I can understand had he been dropped from the Test side since he never made it in that bracket. But if he is dropped from the white ball format then Indian Cricket is just doomed for the bad. I hope he isn't there only because of injury and not the former.

I think the squads aren't 100% confirmed. There might be changes and Rohit may make the squad. Let us just wait and see.

Btw I saw something on Instagram stating Rohit is ruled out of IPL. I think it was fake. Because as per the tweet from the Mumbai Indians he is seen being praticing.

Rohit sharma out of the ipl 2020
