Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Ahhh yes- it was George Bailey who captained them. And yeah- Sehwag in glasses.

The final seemed all Punjab, with Saha scoring a ton. KKR romped home in the last over.
Credits - Manish Pandey and lil cameo from Piyush Chawla at the end.

Some of the IPL finals have been memorable. I vividly remember these ones:

1. RR v CSK (1st IPL Final ever)
2. DC v RCB (2nd- memorable cause DC, the best team till date, finally won)
3. KKR v KXIP
4. MI v CSK (when CSK won- MI made the mistake of holding back Pollard)
5. MI v RPS (the 1 run margin and start of Thala's go slow approach)

You forgot Manvinder Bisla excellence?

2019 final was crazy with Malinga bowling a slow yorker to Shardul Thakur.

I would love to see either PK or RCB lift the trophy, both teams are in good form and have great squad, but Shreyas captaincy gives Punjab the edge over Ee sala's.

If RCB win, Kohli might want to hang up his boots!

But, I do agree, Shreyas' captaincy far better than Patidars.

Although if Punjab wins, I foresee the franchisee splitting up- the owners aren't on the same page and they could very well have a different owner. Zinta and Burman have continually claimed that they don't get adequate support in Mohali + infighting among the 2 ex-lovers will create more havoc.

Rcb bowling delivering in big stages, I used to pray for times like these

Got to feel for Punjab. They played beautifully and deserved to play the final but so do RCB. I would have loved to watch RCB vs Punjab Kings as the final but that was not to be.

For the next match, I would lose it if Mumbai wins simply because we have seen them way too many times in the final.

Even though I follow GT, I wish RCB wins this season. It is the 18th season and a perfect setup for VK18, almost like Muralitharan getting 8 wickets in his last match to finish at exactly 800 wickets. What a script from God that was!

Doesn't Punjab have anither chance ?

I'm not able to follow the last few matches closely due to a tight schedule. If they do another chance, it would be gripping! TBH I am happy with any team winning barring MI just because I want newer winners. That's why I wish for RCB vs Punjab in the final.

It looks like you have not been following the IPL playoffs\knockout schedule since lat decade:D

Punjab flopped as badly as Delhi (during the Covid final, where they lost to MI, forgot the year).

I have a lot of faith in Ponting to get things right for this team. They can be dangerous in the coming game, especially now that they have faced a huge setback.
