Australia 1st Innings - Continued
10 more overs pass, as well as the lunch break and Hayden and Ponting are still at the crease on 62 and 42 respectively. These two look set for a big innings as Australia cruise on 145-1 after 46 overs.
47th over: Well, a great exhibition of how NOT to bowl from Pollock, dishing up short, wide balls for Hayden to devour like a lion on speed! A massive 14 off the over, Aus 159-1.
48th over: I think Ponting and Hayden are enjoying this too much! Another expensive over and Aus are now 166-1.
49th over: More runs for Hayden but also surivives a good LBW shout, height was maybe an issue. Hayden on 87*. Aus 174-1.
10 more overs pass and although the run rate has decreased, still no breakthrough can be found by SA. Hayden on 93* and Poting on 75* mean Aus are strictly in the driving seat on 214-1 off 59 overs!
60th over: Oh how amazing! Hayden, who could smell his 100 has been run out on 98! What a catastrophe! Hayden wont be too happy with Ponting for that but SA are jubilant! Aus 221-2!
61st over: Damien Martyn's first over is a comfortable maiden for Pollock. Aus 221-2.
62nd over: Have you ever heard the phrase "Partners in crime go down together".... Nope, nor have I but in this case, its true! Ponting goes for 80 as he is caught on the boundary by Rudolph off the bowling of Kallis. Mr.Cricket, Michael Hussey comes to the crease. Aus 226-3!
63rd over: A maiden for the returning Boje, Aus still 226-3, 27 runs behind the South African innings of 253.
20 overs pass with two more wickets falling for the Aussies! First: Damien Martyn, looking for an impossible second is run out for a very disappoiting 1 run. Next to go was Michael Clarke, caught by de Villiers off the bowling of Nel for 4, in the slips. Hussey (17*) is joined by Glichrist (8*) and Aus are 257-5, a collapse maybe?
84th over: Well, a dreadful decision from umpire Rudi Koertzen sees Hussey walk for 19, Kallis with the wicket, (LBW). However Gilchrist and Warne look to move things along a bit as Aus are 272-6!
85th over: Oh dear! 2 wickets fall, Warne bowled Nel caught Boje in the slips for 3 and Brett Lee run out for 2. A spectacular yet rare collapse from the Aussies! 282-8 now!
86th over: Well he maybe a good bowler, but Stuart Clark is left with egg on his face as he troops back to the dressing room with a good, strong Golden Duck under his belt! Glichrist is still at the crease on 29* and is joined by McGrath. Aus 288-9.
87th over: Well Glichrist has sensed he has to hit out or get out as he smashes 15 off the over and keeps strike on 44*. Aus 303-9.
88th over: Inevitable really. The last ball of the over and Gilchrist wants the strike. McGrath is too slow though (must be his old age!) and is run out for 3. Australia lose 9 wickets for 86 runs and finish on 307 all out!
MN: Well Australia seemed to be cruising on 221-1 but they will not be happy to finish on 307 all out, Glichrist stranded on 45* , S/cards below.

J.Kallis 3-45 off 11.4 overs
MN: Well a disappointing batting performance from Australia losing 9 wickets for 86 runs! What do you think was the problem, Colin Lloyd?
CL: Well, I think the introduction of Jacques Kallis played a big factor with Pollock conceding too many runs. Kallis concentrated on line and length and skittled out the middle order with the help of the fiery Andre Nel. I'd of liked to see Australia get 500 plus but it just wasnt to be.
MN: Well, its certainly made a match! Join us after the break to see South Africa face a tricky hour spell before the close of play!
