iPhone Applications

Oo, there's a cricinfo app?

Gamboid is pretty fun. I've been playing a lot of retro video games from back in elementary school on it during downtime. Absolute battery killer though.

bump!

There's a free Stick Cricket app available, looks like a pretty good game. What's this 12 days of christmas thing about? Do they just have a different free app available every day?

Just grabbing the Stick Cricket app. Also went ahead and splurged the $7 on the Cricket Captain 2010 app. Looks like they managed to squeeze the whole game onto the phone with a mini UI. Game looks good but the UI is definitely a little cumbersome to use.

Has anyone tried touch cricket, its quite hard at first but is really Addicting once you get used to it.

Stick cricket app is interesting. How do I get to the purchasing part within the app? There seems to be some purchase thing within the app, but I dont seem to see it. The game itself is decent, and can be developed to be really good.

Yea that Stick Cricket app is pretty cool. Don't think I'll spend the extra money to unlock the full features. It was actually because of this app that I went back to the site and signed up again. Boy has it changed from back in the day.

I just looked it up. It's NZ$10. UI looks nice in the preview screenshots. Might be worth getting.

Another app which I use is the Nike GPS app. It's brilliant considering you don't need to by that Nike thing you put in your shoe. Just need your iPhone. It also maps you run for you so you see where you've been, how far you've travelled and where you were running the fastest or slowest.

I bought the ICC app and it's pretty good. It can be a bit slow though due to the hardware. The graphics fit perfectly on the smaller screen though

I have always played this off as a really stupid question, but is there actually anyway to gift an app to a person? My dad has an iPhone as well but lives in the other side of the world and if we both had WhatsApp we could communicate for free.

Is there anyway I can buy it for him?

Just answered my own question by browsing over the App Store. Sweet!

Touch cricket gets addicting for a while and then it becomes boring again. It would've been nice if they ever continued development and added in all the Test playing nations. As of now you can play ODIs and T20s between any sides (nameless players) but Tests are only available in Ashes mode.

I think the Stickcricket app is superior.

You get to it if you play world domination and get to the (I think) third team on the list. I think Kenya. Then you need to pay to unlock the rest.

Anyone can score runs off spinners on Stickcricket iPhone app? None of the shots connect (even though I am playing it quite late). It either doesnt connect at all, or goes through and hits the timber.:mad

Yeah, spinners you gotta hit it pretty late. The main thing is deciding which side to go with depending on which way the ball is turning.

I can still manage to score 18-20 rpo against spinners on average but definitely not the ~30 as it is against faster bowlers. Just practice.

Thanks for that tip, sohum. Will work on that.

Anyone use an app to control the keyboard and mouse of your PC/laptop? I just got a 46" LCD HDTV and I have one of my old laptops (its a decent HP pavilion laptop) connected via VGA to my HDTV. I have put the laptop into my TV stand and dont want to take it out at all and want to control the laptop via iTouch. Which is the best app to do it? Heard decent things about Air Mouse. Any other ones that might be better?

I fired up to the App store after i read those comments. Stick cricket is considerably good for being non-flash from it's parent site game. Spinners are hell to beat, I went down from 120/2 to 160/10 in 2 overs of spin. :p

Haven't tried Cricket Captain yet. I gotta update to 4.2 someday.

P.S. anyone tried Bigcricket? It feels not worth buying initially, but dunno it's kinda fun. Feels like Simulation with freedom of controlling the players. Sort of.

I have gotten hold of the spinners quite well now after reading that tip from sohum. Easily scoring 18-20 runs off the spinners now. Play it after the ball pitches when facing a spinner.

After you complete three WD Challenges, you'll get the message to buy or upgrade.
