Theres only one Freddie

I could see him as a bowler who can bat, he will never be anything more in my eyes.

Freedy started the same way. Look where he is now.

It was his third series. He's very young at the moment and could prove to be a quality player but i think the hyping of him is unjustified at the moment.

Irfan Pathan made his debut for India ( not the u-19 india ) in the Australian test of Adelaide.
Pathan also holds the World record for the most wickets in a match i.e 9 against bangladesh in the under 19 version of the game.
Also no one is hyping him at the moment.
We have seen bowling greats like Wasim Akram coming out in his praise.Pathan's ability to bring in the delivery to the right hander is awesome and I don't think that there has ever been a swing bowler like pathan in India.

Ok guys, look at Pathan today.... 4 wickets at less than 5 per over!!!!

He is our new all rounder.... Hail PATHAN!!!

He is our new allrounder but if india want the best out of him in the bowling department he will have 2 drop down the order a bit. India's fast bowling can be poor and irfan is needed. If india can find two capable opening bowlers and let pathan come in at 1st or 2nd change then it will be better. Irfan can then build on the role similar to Flintoff and Klusener.

We have to groom Sree Santh and VRV Singh to form a good opening combination....

Precisely! and best of all they are both looking fairly promising.

The first 2 games are going Pathans way.

H singh and Kartic are doing well together under Dravids captaincy, hopefully these 2 will be succesful spin twins for years to come and will be a main factor if those come good playing together with wickets and eco bowling figures. It will be a huge boost for India when its the time for the next world cup.

Patience is a virtue my friend. Isnt it a bit too early to make a comment like that?

Just seeing him rise into cricket like that made me think he might. I think he can be if he thiers no injuries in the future.

So, If Pathan is an allrounder, then:

Sachin
Sehwag
Kaif
Dravid
Yuvi
Pathan
Dhoni
VRV Singh
Bhajji
SreeSanth
Kartik.

Works well. Pathan first change, and still two spinners...

No pathan should continue to open the bowling.
Agarkar also must be groomed ..though it is too late in his career.

Agarkar will be useful in whatever time we have him in.

7-1-27-1, not bad. Did well today.

Pathan could open if the ball will swing, but if he becomes a better bowler, and relies less on swing, he will be okay as first change.

But it will be hard for Pathan to continue opening the bowling and come in at no.3 wont it. he is only young...should india put sooo much presure on him?
