Smith bats eight for Australia, his stats are good, but irl I don't think he's a 1400.
IMO I'd rate Vettori a better batsman than Smith, but I don't think many would agree with me.
I would move Jacques down to like 1350, irl I hardly hear about him.

Come on. Hauritz is as good as Swann or maybe slightly worse so have Hauritz at 690 is Swann is at 680. I guess I could edit it anyway.

I say Jaques at 1350 at best, Hughes should be right, Smith maybe 1300 or maybe 1350 and Taylor should probably be 1550 (where are you rating players like Ponting, Clarke, Hussey, de Villiers, Tendulkar etc.)

Hauritz has improved massively, but he's not as good as Swann imo. Murali>Vettori>Swann>Hauritz/Harbhajan>Mendis>Benn.

I wouldn't rate Taylor as good as them tbh. Smith has an exceptional domestic record, and he only bats at 8 because Australia play him as a spinner not a batting all-rounder.

I'm not sure if you would agree with me, but surely Chris Martin is not a 800 bowler. Maybe somewhere around 700 even though he is getting older, but he was still taking wickets last year.

TBH I haven't had a full look through the list, I will in the weekend.
The best way is just put all the ratings in excel, and sort them in order, that way you can see everything.

i know. I'm even reluctant to edit without a scout. I prefer just doing that and put the best bowlers in order and just do the ratings based on that. This way, I'm just giving ratings and in the end, players are rated better than others even though I don't think they are and so on.

I do this then recheck by using the scout. The scout also allows you to find random domestic players who have high ratings

i know. one of the reasons I like it so much. I might wait for the scout. In the meantime, I'll make a list of the 100 top bowlers, 100 top batsman and 20 top all-rounders or something like that and just put down the ratings for each player I'm going to give and set the rest to below that.

btw, what do you think the highest bowler should be rated and highest batsman while you are at it.

I think highest bowler around 600, highest batsman around 1600-1650.

I dunno how you can give such small increments, my ratings are all rounded to 10s but if you separate them by smaller it doesn't really make much difference lol

Hi Chewie and Hedger,

IMO, the best bowler should be rated around 570 (someone like Vettori/Steyn/Murli)

And the best batsmen should be rated around 1725 (someone like Tendulkar/Ponting/Hussey/Kallis)

I have tested with these ratings and they seem to perform reasonably well in around these ratings

yeah. I think I'll be giving a max rating of 580 in bowling and 1700 in batting.

I've made a list of a fair few batsman. So far, I've got these. Please let me know anybody I left out or seems difference. What do you think Chewie? I've just done them in groups of 10 rating points. Probably the range isn't high enough but oh well. I'll sort that out later.
