Kevin Pietersen or AB de Villiers?

Who will finish their career as the better batsman?

Really too hard to say. Both are brilliant batsmen. If Kevin Pietersen continues with his cocky FIGJAM nature then it'll be AB.

Although Devilliers is an outstanding batsmen I think KP is overall the better batsmen, only just though both are quite great.

I do think that AB might become a better allround player though as he is a brilliant fielder and can keep. And appears to have a better team orientated attitude compared to KP.

Devilliers for me for one reason he is hungry for success and KP will play for 4 more years even if he does not perform because England dont have anyone better than him they wont be dropping him so he is no more hungry for runs.

AB's a good talent, but he's only had 1 good year. KP's been consistent since 2005 and I think he's getting better. AB had the head on KP last year, but that's the first time he'd done so. I think if KP can sort out his slight technical faults he will get better, and will finish his career as one of the greats, certainly of English cricket anyway.

I would love to say KP but for last 8-10 months, I think he has lost his focus.
He scores a hundred and fails for a number of innings after that.

He has also become this selfish player who plays some unwanted shot at the worst possible time.

ABDV ont he other hand has been among runs through out the australian and SA summer, both in tests and in ODIs.

If KP sorts out his personal problems and starts giving respect to "cricket", he will easily out pace ABDV.

o say werd?

It's Pretty hard, need to see how they both do in next few years, Obviously AB is 25 and Kevin older, so AB gets to play more cricket.

Tempted to say AB. He seems like a much better "team" player.

KP has to change a few things and needs to deflate that big head of his.

It's KP. KP has everything, he is what I call a "born cricketer". He just needs to be a bit consistent in the ODI's.

Oh my god whyyyyyyy do people continue to reply to these pointless threads?

*Cue the smartass who says you*.

^They are not "pointless". But their problem is that they become pretty biased as the days pass. It happens when some member here appears to be a fan of Mr A in the "A vs B" comparison, and so he starts posting things which make Mr A look better than Mr B even if he isn't. And the others start slamming him, and in return he also starts slamming the others. The best way to get rid of this- pick and compare two players of the same country, instead of different countries.

I go for KP simply because I like watching him more than AB. KP is something special and might end up being so too
