KFC pulls 'racist' Aussie cricket ad

Phil Hughes :sarcasm

I also wish to complain that there is another offending KFC ad depicting a ticket tout (a scalper for the Aussie reader's,) as a shady London type....... I was absolutely horrified!!!

:laugh:laugh Mail it to Faux Network straight away, I say :D

I'm offended by the Aussie guy. I couldn't understand the guy!:p

Its an American stereotype and even though it was an Aussie ad. its caused an uproar in the US because KFC is an American company. Fair enough for them to pull it ad. Just a culture clash.

I though it was funny. :laugh
but It wasn't racist.. We all eat chicken..not just black people:doh

The 'fried chicken' stereotype is quite commonly used against African Americans in the United States as a racist slur. They get pretty offended.

I can see the 'racism' from the American perspective.

I can understand this.

But still 51 percent voted that it was not racist. It isn't even on American tv so why is it an 'uproar'?

I think the biggest disgrace is that the bucket contains only wings, no breast.

BREAST IS BEST!

This incident reminds me of the whole Symonds monkey incident back whenever. The fried chicken-black stereotype is considered racist in the U.S. but obviously not in Australia. Similarly, the monkey-black stereotype is considered racist in Europe and Australia, but not in Asia and the U.S. Just a culture clash, as someone else noted!

The Hughes ad is funny. Poor bugger hasn't played a T20I yet!

Maybe a sign he's been penciled in for this summer? He really should be going to the T20 WC this year.....

exactly. and why does it have to be ALL Black. why is he the ONLY white guy in there? why does he feel "awkward" around black people? what does that suppose to mean? the add is offending and stereotyped. idk how some of you guys not see it.

i 1st saw the ad on that youtube guy sexphill's video couple of weeks ago.

Having someone with a different culture and upbringing to you doesn't mean thats racism. If I was around a bunch of Americans that were talking about Baseball I might feel a bit "awkward". He isn't making of the skin colour, just saying when you feel a bit "awkward just feed whoever some kfc chicken.
