KFC pulls 'racist' Aussie cricket ad

He was feeling awkward because he managed to get a seat in amongst some Carribean people playing music all day when he anted to watch the cricket in peace.

i never said racist, thats not the correct word. it's offending, offending to the African Americans

"Culture clash" is the right term to be used in this context, I believe. Glad KFC resolved this issue before it would've snowballed into something even bigger.

Yes, it is. Check out the American forums. They are damn pissed with the ad.

Some, on the NBC or Fox or some other news network website I guess. And from what I read, they weren't at all happy

wasn't there another similar issue in Aus few months ago? few guys in some talent show made fun of Blacks, with Afros and stuff. and there was this guest American judge (white) got pretty annoyed, said this would never happen in USA and stuff...

^ Oh. Some news article or names? Someone can search the interweb in that case.

the only reason i know about that because, a high school dance team in our area did a dance move on their rally and apparently it was "inappropriate". and i wanted to check it out. :D and right before that they showed a lil clip from that talent show which also created a controversy ...

Share it here, along with a few vids of your own dance performances. You may become a superstar, you know :D

Not to mention the fact that 99.9999999% of Americans don't even know what cricket is. So they wouldn't know the context of the advert anyway.

I think Kevin Bloody Wilson put it right in terms of racism. "Racism is born out of hate" and I don't think that ad was done out of any hatred whatsoever. In fact if anything it was a gesture of harmony.

Got to be the best explanation of the ad.

Looks like Americans are trying their level best somehow to get themselves involved in cricket since it's becoming more popular.

But there are no African Americans in the ad? they are West Indians. :facepalm

ok BLACK...black people. we dont say that...

Apparently not too many West Indian's think that ads racist, they think it's funny.
