IPL to try specialist fielders, pink ball

Pretty innovative as always, Mr.Modi ! This Specialist Fielder rule seems to be another feature in the cap of the IPL. This is the first time I'm hearing of something like this. Seems to be a great thing for cricket and will provide legitimacy to England's theory's of "resting bowlers during Ashes" and similar strategies employed by teams. :p

And the pink ball, not the first time we are hearing of it, but Mr.Modi has proved he can walk-the-talk :clap

PS- May the "IPL, BCCI & Modi are killing cricket" discussions begin :p

Modi is trying to do an MCC here!!! :rtfl

Its always better to leave the job to the professional!!
:D

Damn it. More unnecessary influences on international cricket.

Specialist fielders? Thats interesting. How would they do it? What would the restrictions be? I am quite keen to know how they go about it. The 'pink ball' experiment is also good although its not a new one for the IPL as people have spoken about trying it before. Its crucial to the chances of day/night test matches.

I like the pink ball. Looks really good under lights, so much clearer than the white ball, especially in HD. With the white ball you tend to lose it when it's hit a fair distance either in the air or along the ground, but you can see the pink ball incredibly clearly. If the polish and colour holds better than the white ball then it should definitely be implemented into the world game, would save all this rubbish of changing the ball after 34 overs in ODi's.

I think sometimes cricket fans see the word "modi" and then knee-jerk hate.

who cares what the rules are in the IPL are, no one takes it that seriously anyway, you have 18 year olds bowling to 40 year old retired legends. Pink balls do need to be trialled. I'm not in favour of day night tests, but the ball in ODIs is still a joke.

The fielding substitutes idea is actually exceptional considering the concerns over player burn-out.

It's not really cricket then is it? Fielding is one of the most important things in the game, this will only lower the quality of cricket being played in the IPL tbh.
