I don't think we destroyed Australia at all. I just think that in one Test, Old Trafford, we outplayed them. Again I refer to Australian arrogance.

I don't think anyone can judge anything right now, Australian's are favorites but England currently have the Ashes which shows a different side to the story.

First up, I think that, while last year's Ashes were undeniably close, we played the better cricket and deserved our win. Ricky Ponting said as much to Vaughan in the aftermath of our victory.

This years series will be another close one, but, while before last year's series I was quietly confident, this year I'm less so. Our bowling attack, so impressive last year, seems certain to have a weak link in it come the first test. This will either be the fourth seamer (Mahmood/Plunkett) who will concede runs and take the pressure off the Aussies whenever they bowl. Either that or we'll play 6 batsman, solving the problem of who to drop, bu putting an awful lot of pressure on Flintoff as the third seamer - he'd be an injury risk, something that would really make life difficult for us.
