Post your best memories from cricket. It could be anything.

The best memory from 4th grade last season was copping a bumper from an older guy and confidently sliding under it, then looking at him, not backing down. Felt great.

Also, in the last over of our last game last season, they needed 3 runs to win, I went to my long run up, and kept them to 2! I should have done a huge Freddy, just standing in the middle of the pitch with my arms aloft, would have been awesome if my team actually embraced me!

When I was 15, playing club cricket. Last over, needed 14 runs to win, 1 wicket in hand. I didnt think we could make it, I was opening and the other batsman was a number 10. I made a handy 61 so far, i told the number 10 to let me keep the strike. I was going to slog every ball. 1st ball, LBW Appeal, not out. 2nd Ball, Smashed for 4 down the leg side. 3rd ball- Played and Missed. Now we needed 10 runs from 3 balls. 4th ball- i glided to the off-side, could`ve ran 3, but decided to keep the strike and ran 2. 5th ball- smashed down the ground for 4. 4 more runs needed. 6th ball- Bad ball from the bowler, short and wide, i smashed it and went over for six. We were stoked, one of the best wins.

Ended the day with 77*.

Oh..i miss those days.

My best match let me think there are quite few but i take name of one so once' opon a time me and my friends were playing 6 over match they won the toss and elected to bat they made 70 in 6 overs my team was amazed specially i because i was the captain. Now it was time for our batting and lol at our opening apir they gone for 0 it was 4 wicket match now and the crease me and my friend were playing and after 2 overs our score was 20 i was on 16 unfortunately my friend get out on boundary. Now i was alone i thought now we have lost but suddenly i hitted 2 sixes and my pressure was over.In next over my friend and i haved one clash like yuvraj and flintoff.:pI was quite angry then now he was on bowling he was captain of the oposition first ball six second ball six third ball 4 fourth ball 6 5th ball wide but not given by umpire 6ball six and out team was on fire. After 5 over's our team was on 50 and i was on 45 so now we were in need of 20 bowler bowled first ball dot delivery now pressure was at very high level.Second ball six now 14 needed.3rd ball 4.Fourth ball 4.5th four.now two wanted of last delivery and it's a six me the player of the moment i was running all around the park i was amazed we have won it was great match.:)

In Under 12 cricket, I hit a four off the last ball to win the match - I came in batting at number 11 and we needed 3 runs to win from the last ball. Anyway, I struck it pretty well and it bounced once right before the fielder, skidded off a piece of grass and he didn't stop it. It was right in front of him too and then took a wild turn before running for four. We won by a wicket and I finished 27* haha.

Real cricket please...

My debut match for my club this year. We were playing the best team in the league by far, they had won the league every year but hadn't moved up a division. Anyway we were elected to bat first and I was expected to bat six to do some lower order slogging. For some reason I was told to open by our captain, who's probably our best all rounder. My opening partner was to face first ball and we were both expected ducks to be honest as we were facing a bowler that represented Essex at U15.

My opening partner did well and hit a single off the third delivery. My first ball to face from him was around good length on the offstump. I danced down the ground and smacked him over his head for a one bounce boundary. He looked amazed at my bravery, probably moreso my stupidity. Safe to say I didn't last long and got bowled by a spinner trying to sweep him for a huge shot. Made 14 in the end but it was that first shot that I'll remember.

First 100 for the Valley. Had a 95 run partnership with the number 10 batsmen and he only scored 6 runs. I think out of the 15 or so overs we batted together I faced atleast 70-75 balls. We were only chasing 170 odd and we were something like 60-8.

Wow. Good effort there.

probably my first first grade match at 14 or playing under 21 rep cricket last year at 16

Taking my first wicket last season (U17). I came on on the 31st over (36 over innings) and got hit for 12 off my first two. The guy in question was on 110* and had faced the first ball. Into my third and final over and second ball in I give it some air outside off. The batsman goes for the big slog sweep and gets caught right on the boundary line, I go off my top :)

He went on to score 5 more centuries in the 8 remaining matches of the season, easily being the player of the competition.

Well that's unfair. All the cricket I've played is tennis ball cricket, even my inter-school stuff. Only time I've played Hard-ball is in coaching with only a few matches in hard-ball cricket. Just because I don't play 'proper' cricket doesn't mean I don't have the right to share my memories of it.
