As I was flicking through the pages of a morning daily today, I came across this wonderful interview of Dr Ali Bacher, CSA's ex-managing director, conducted by one of their journalists over the phone.

He has some very valid points. Instead of trying to cover things up, CSA should acknowledge that they do not have any black player after Makhaya Ntini who can be a regular member of the side on his merit, and address this issue as soon as possible. Sacking quality coaches (Yeah, Arthur resigned and was not sacked, but I don't think I'm the only one who smells a rat here) and selection committees won't help the real cause.

Transformation played a big role but it wasn't the only reason arthur decided to resign. The CSA management have decided to reorganise the team structure the same the england team is currently organised. With tons of specialist coaches and more of a technical director than a head coach. Arthur didn't agree with this.

There was more than one issue at play here.

I agree with Dr. Bacher on his criticism of the development programs and the provincial sides in this mornings paper. The national team shouldn't be looking for black players, the provinces should be producing them so the national side can pick quality players on merit. There is no reason why black players can't come through. The provinces produces tons of indian and coloured players. Not asking for them to developed 10 per side, but surely each province can produce one quality black player.
