New C2005 Gameplay Video

If you notice the team screens in the beginning of the Cricket 2005 video, you will see Gautam Gmbhir opening the batting!! That makes no sense. They removed Kaif and put Gambhir instead of Sachin in the opening slot. By the way, where is Balaji and Pathan!!!!

saw the c2005 video ....players seems to have been to gyms!! zaheer's arms looked huge .....bowling looks reasonable though....

Guys! relax..stop abusing EA..you guys just dont know how hard it is to make games.Game developers have 7 days a week schedule 9am to 8pm (YEAH ON SUNDAYS AS WELL) ..they are ruining their social lives sitting in cubators just to make you guys happy...and NO they dont get paid a lot either.

Also since the market for cricket is soo small as compared to Fifa,NBA ...nobody will want to spend millions in getting licenses, getting better commentry..so they just use the previous assets to prevent costs. How many members do we have here 7000 ?

I do agree that cricket should be developed by developers who actually have played cricket and not just any other programmer.I doubt if any body plays cricket in canada(ESP Nova scotia).

So just calm down..and dont insult the developers by calling them lazy ...they are just programming as per the design document..

How i know this? i am a game developer working in the industry.

hey man no disrespect to you ... but EA is a bigger company than codemasters ... infact MUCH bigger! i dont understand how the codies can put out a game of such quality and EA can't? im sure EA has all the resources that codies have and more ...

i think its about time the whole team is changed ... start afresh on a CLEAN slate ... get back to the drawing board and dream somethin new up ...

and no im not saying that c2005 is horrible im just contemplating why it aint as good as blic  ... or even close?

i am still going to get both games but i dont feel that it is going to do EA any favors ... cuz as you see most the forum is livid!

Imo no one, especially a big company like EA is going to do anything for love of the game or for the community etc etc..it all comes down to profits.
also the number of buyers aren't limited to members of this forum alone, plus we are underestimating revenues generated with ads etc.
also if they were putting in the kind of effort sangam says, they would have sorted out BASIC shortcomings a while back. let's face it no one is happy to hate ea, we would all love to buy a great game, but if you are going to deliver sub standard full of bugs product which doesn't include promised things people are not going to be happy.

Does this design document tell them to not bother bug-testing? Does it tell them that ODIs have white sightscreens? Does it tell them that it never rains in ODIs?

We're not really insulting the programmers per se, mainly the people involved in the design and testing stages.

you sound like some one from the EA. Plz note that all these are pure user opinions. NO one here is abusing the makers.. That s a different plane... When a company promises to deliver something, they should develop it.. These guys have been in this cricket gaming business for quite sometime.. Ok, leave the better commentary, licenses part..

EA promised lofty dreams before C'04 released. What happened? Did you get all what they promised? All you got was those poor bugs that spoiled the whole pleasure of playing a cricket game? if not for our patch makers, EA's Cricket2004 would have stinked!! If you cant deliver, dont promise... EA deserves all the brickbats that it is getting. Let them deliver first. And based on their previous release, people ave the right to question their promises...

If I'm not mistaken that's the same crowd as Cricket 2002.

In BLIC, you may be able to change names but theysay you can only edit/import a maximum of 3. That means changing 3 players names. What a waste. im getting EA for sure

well after watching both the videos i must say i am leaning towards Ea C2K5 simply because it seems much more realistic. Yes, the players look buff, but as someone rightly pointed out, its because of the fifa and rugby engine they used..you win some and loose some.
The bowler bowls slower because they want a smooth action to make it look the ball is being delivered in one motion.
The batting stance is excellent and the shot selection has also been improved. The shots the batsmen play are exactly how they play in real life, for example if you see the front foot cover drive Gilchrist was trying to hit, that exactly how he plays that shot.
As far as the commentry is concerned, yes thats a drawback, it would have been better if they added some more new stuff. But then again the game is still a month away from release and you never know.
To me BLIC seems pretty cool, but its not smooth. Its faster paced but that makes it seem like Cricket 2004, especially if you see the batsmen hitting the shots. The players names are messed up and the bowling HUD is not that impressive, even though there seems to be more swing for the bowlers in BLIC than in Cricket 2005, but our great patchers can fix that for us ;-)
In conclusion i would say that both games are a month away from release and its still anybody's game. I personally prefer Cricket 2005, simply because i like EA. I would definately like some better quality videos to be shown by Ea Cricket 2005 as well as BLIC.
