Just watching the players at the full-time whistle is enough to see what is going through their minds. Looking at the Newcastle players you could see that they clearly thought they deserved something from the game.

The result was a bit harsh on Newcastle, who to be fair, gave 110% after that disallowed goal, creating a few half chances but no real major threat to Blackburn. As the players trudged off the pitch, news was filtering through of the other results, which puts the table after the season's third games like this.

Newcastle's first loss of the season results in them losing 5 places from second to seventh. It is a huge loss of ground with Newcastle now three points behind leaders Manchester United. Newcastle will have to make up ground in their game against Aston Villa.

Highlights To Follow Soon

Gary Lineker: Hello and welcome to Match Of The Day, tonight we have a bunch of good matches in store but once again we shall start with Blackburn's home game against Newcastle. Here as always to help with the analysis side of things, Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson.

Alan Hansen: Hello, and can I just say that it will be a great show.

Mark Lawrenson: Yeah, it always is though Alan!

*Polite laughter*

GL: So the seasons first loss for Newcastle then, three games in.

AH: Yeah, it wasn't as if they were out played they just lacked the killer instinct up front I'm afraid.

ML: At this level, you have to take your chances, especially against a dangerous side like Blackburn.

GL: Yes and that is what Blackburn did, although it wasn't in the most convincing fashion.

AH: No, a lucky goal to be honest Craig Bellamy had hit a poor shot and Harkins was just there, he didn't know anything about it.

GL: Unfortunately, we can't show you this goal as our cameras were not operating on this game, here instead though is Jonathon Pearce who has Gary Harkins with him.

Gary Harkins.

JP: So Gary, a win for Blackburn but perhaps not the most convincing one you will ever have?

GH: No we never really got going today, but luckily for us neither did Newcastle.

JP: Were you happy with your goal?

GH: I can't imagine it will be going down for the goal of the month polls, but a goal is a goal and as long as we are winning games that is all that matters.

JP: Ok thanks for your time Gary. Good luck for the future.

GH: Cheers mate.

GL: What do you make of that then?

AH: I think he's spot on, as long as his team is winning and he is playing a part in them doing so, they can expect to do well.

ML: I agree with Alan, I can see Blackburn doing well this year.

GL: Proberly means they will do badly then, if you've predicted them to do well.

*Alan and Gary laugh, Lawro is not amused*

GL: Let's move on now then...

I know I was so peeved off that they scored :mad I forget to make a video of it :p

EDIT: Could you guys give comments on the story so far and give advice to what I should do to improve?

Great story so far mate; the goal highlights make it even better.
Bloody Brilliant! :D

Good story Culli! keep the good work up mate!

Newcastle United face Aston Villa today in what should be a game with lots of chances for both teams, and also where anyone can walk out the winner. Newcastle United are fresh of a loss to Blackburn Rovers and will be out to correct that tonight with a good performance in this home tie. Aston Villa have a number of stars who are capable of performing in the Premiership. Veteran defender, Olaf Mellberg, played a huge part in Sweden's World Cup group stage match against England in 2002 and 2006.

A slightly different Newcastle line-up with Luque going out to Left Midfield and Kieron Dyer takes up Luque's position at CF. The plan from Newcastle is obviously pace up front which Owen and Dyer obviously bring to the side when fully fit. Emre moves into centre midfield to fill in Dyer's spot.

Not a full capacity at St James' Park, but still a fair number of people came to see, what they were hoping for, a Newcastle victory.

Lets see if this new strategy works. Personally I'd prefer keeping Luque upfront, because he is a better finisher than Dyer.

I'm going for pace though, I think that Dyer and Owen would be able to get behind Villas back line easier

Newcastle vs Aston Villa started well for both teams with both strikers seeing most of the play early on. However, two Newcastle players were linking up together very well, Nolberto Solano and Kieron Dyer. They were working together well and were causing Villa's defence problems from and early stage. It was these who combined once again for Newcastle again in setting up Michael Owen to set the game off.

Solano passed the ball forward towards Dyer who turned quickly to face Owen, he latch a through ball to set Owen up with his first goal of the season, and setting Newcastle up on a dream start.
