Yeah, and that's why those calls went QLD's way?

:
It's definitely becoming predictable, or was, but it's not staged, and what association does the growth of soccer have with SOO?
And, agreed, it was a complete waste of time holding the game in Melbourne- it's blatantly clear that a sporting culture like that cannot be broken into so simply, and if they're looking to challenge AFL- and the like- with league, well, they've got to be kidding themselves.
That Caroll decision was poor, in my opinion anyway. As the commentators said, it was poor ball security, simple as that.
The Thurston knock-on came off his knee, didn't it?
With Hodgson- it came off his forearms! At least I thought it did...
There would've been loads of media mutterings had NSW scraped away with the victory, that's for sure.
Anyway, QLD played well, and probably deserved the victory. They looked dangerous through their two key playmakers in Thurston and Lockyer (it's funny how some actually doubted his ability to play at the highest level post-first game), and they found a nice variation in wide and central forward play.
Mogg played very well, as did Tate in the centres. QLD looked to be the hungrier outfit, and Grothe was one of the few NSW standouts- he seemed involved in pretty much everything, and he really made his presence felt by using his immense strength and good pace.
Nonetheless, QLD were the better side, and it's good to see a change in the tides.
Gosh, John Howard turns up for everything, doesn't he?- he got a nice reception, too!
