1.05 pm local time The rain has stopped for the time being and the area around the pitch is being dried with blowers. The super sopper's in action over the covers while the PA's blasting bhangra tunes (much to the annoyance of Pakistani fans who sit idle in the stand while Indian counterparts have a blast).

The inspection is still at 2.00pm. The teams are back at the hotel for the time being. The delay is now due to a wet outfield, not rain.

As I said , they will try and get at least a 20-20 match in.
Let us hope the rain stays away !
Rain , Rain Go Away, India and Pakistan want to play !

you are being over-optimistic here !
We`d be lucky to even get a game in and you are hoping for a 40 over match!

Man I was looking foward to this match..
Is there anyway to play cricket in the rain?

Not outdoors, no. It's not as if the players are pansies or anything - the groundsmen just want to protect their pitches!

There is a stadium with a retractable roof in Melbourne that hosts cricket - the UK has the Millenium Stadium and Wembley Stadium yet they aren't used for the sport that needs the roof most!

you can play football in the rain but not cricket.

I know, because football pitches are just large patches of reasonably kept grass with some whitelines on them! In cricket, the pitch conditions can determine the result of a match!

I knew it, I woke up 2 hours after the match was suppose to start, and then noticed that no-one else was up in the house so the game wasn't happening, so I just slept.

*Sigh* now I have to wait until september.
