Pakistan Unable To Play on Home Soil!

It has been announced that the Pakistani cricket team will not play any home matches until the terrorist threats are completley cleared. As the last few months attacks have been happening at random and it is a big risk to put the players in. The decision was made early this morning when the PCB and Pakistani goverment officials concluded a meeting that has been going on and off over the course of a few weeks.

This decision has not gone too lightly with the fans they are upset but it seems as if they are understanding and are willing to back their team away from home. Talks about squeezing in what are being called "semi-home matches" in Abu Dubai have been taken into consideration, but nothing in that case has been concluded thus far.

NEW ZEALAND vs PAKISTAN, 1st ODI!

Were about to start the first ODI match in what should be a thrilling series between these two evenly matched sides. As you can see the coverage has now been moved to Star Sports, we will be bringing you high quality presentation and match details. However lets concentrate on the teams for now, both of these sides are evenly balanced and we should be in for a cracker. The Pakistan side will have their word cut out for them as they will have to do their best in starting off good away from home!

As we can see Pakistan have won the toss and elected to bat first, theres overhead conditions so the openers will have to be very catious in the first few overs. Salman Butt will be looking to get a good start to his series as he is paired up with Imran Nazir. The Kiwi's will look for them early breakthroughs using the conditions and getting the ball to swing about!

More updates coming soon live from Star Sports as this match gets underway, stay tuned as exciting updates come your way!

NEW ZEALAND vs PAKISTAN, 1st ODI - 20 OVER UPDATE!

It's been an exciting ODI match up thus far, both teams as we predicted have made it an exciting match. Anything can happen at this stage as the match is at the make do stage where one team has to take the innings by the collar and make it theirs. We said it's a good batting pitch and this has been shown by some brilliant batting by the likes of Shoaib Malik and Salman Butt. Unfortunantly Butt didn't last long, as the Kiwis got some breakthroughs. But as were on the subject let's take a look at some of the more glorious moments of the Pakistan innings so far!

Some good stroke play there by Malik and Butt really got the Pakistan side going, seeing as they didn't have the best of starts losing Imran Nazir very early. As he tried to play an ambitious shot, trying to drag a ball outside off over the the legside but only managed in nicking it and it produced a great catch by Brendon McCullum. After this Malik and Butt started their dominence with the bat and showed that it is a good batting surface although there was a little in it for the bowlers thanks to the overhead conditions. However Jacob Oram was brought into the attack and he wasn't having a very good opening over until he got Salman Butt caught behind to the slips. This slowed the run rate down a little for the Kiwis. To put Pakistan under a little more pressure Younus Khan was run out as Shoaib Malik tried to push him for a quick single, bare in mind these two are great runners between the wickets, just today they were beaten by the fielders pace and throw!

As it stands now then, the match is all to play for Misbah and Malik will have to stay out there for another twenty overs or so. Then they can get the strong striking power of Afridi and Razzaq to blast away at the end, or will New Zealand continue to get the breakthroughs? Stay tuned and find out!

NEW ZEALAND vs PAKISTAN, 1st ODI - 40 OVER UPDATE!

It's been an exciting twenty overs, we've been treated to some great cricket thanks to the Pakistani batsmen who have really shown us some good batting. A great knock by Shoaib Malik has really held the innings together for them and set them rest of the team up to unlease and play some explosive cricket. Which is exactly what happened, but we'll talk about that later. For now we'll take a look at some of the amazing fluent stroke play Shoaib Malik has played, unfortunantly he was involved in the second run out of the Pakistani innings. God knows why they were pushing for singles with the stage they were scoring at?

Now lets talk about the explosiveness of this Pakistani innings, it came from Shahid Afridi, who completly went crazy smashing the ball for some mighty sixes, high and far it was great entertainment to watch. He scored a brisk 67 befor being caught out in the deep whilst attempting to boost the run rate furthur. If he had stayed out there we would have been looking for a total near the four hundred mark, but unfortunantly he was dismissed quicker than we thought. Razzaq and Akmal also joined in the fun of smashing sixes, Pakistan look set for a good total!

Your presentation is absolutely brilliant, Punk. I would go as far to say the best I have ever seen. The scorecards are just phenominal.

As for the game, Afridi and malik have given Pakistan a brilliant chance at posting 320 odd here. If these two stay at the crease for the 10 overs then New Zealand will be chasing a total way beyond their reach.
