NEW ZEALAND vs PAKISTAN, 1st ODI - END OF INNINGS!

So the innings have finally finished and Pakistan are in one hell of a commanding position, however the Kiwi batting attack should not be underestimated as they can rise to a challenge as such. The track is still great for batting so anything could happen.

In the meantime, we saw more fire crackers, this time thanks to Razzaq and Akmal, all the batsmen seem to have struck some kind of form, even Shoaib Akhtar decided to go the slog route, but failed as he was a bit too ambitious. The lower order of the batting lineup has literally smashed Pakistan to their score, building on the back of a solid knock from Malik, they had to bat well as their main anchor Mohammed Yousuf is not part of this one day selection so far!

Akmal and Razzaq really excelled the innings for Pakistan and fairly quickly as they went for a licence to thrill approach, which allowed to freely waft the bat around, they were hitting it very sweetly although not always for six as Afridi was...but still nice to watch and the crowd loved every moment of it. The Kiwis will be under a lot of pressure but I wouldn't bet against them, their aim will be not to lose wickets but at the same time bat with comfort!

What a fantastic effort by the Pakistanis. Even Sami's quick 31 might prove vital. New Zealand will have to bat conservatavaly at the start of the Innings whilst not losing wickets.

Fantastic works Mohsin!

NEW ZEALAND vs PAKISTAN, 1st ODI - 2nd INNINGS, 20 OVER UPDATE!

So then we were wondering how the Kiwis would go about attacking the Pakistani bowlers in order to stand a chance of even getting close to this total. The Kiwis sent us the early signs that they weren't messing around, they had attacking intent in store for Pakistan, as they smash the bowlers to all parts of the ground. We said this would be a batsmens paradice if batted on properly, and the Kiwis are determind not to let their fans down, so far their putting up some show for them!

Lou Vincent was the cause to their early fireworks show, as he slogged the ball to all parts, at one stage the score was 19/0 and he had score all 19 runs would you believe. The black caps are poised in a strong position but they cannot affort to lose anymore wickets, or they can say goodbye to this first ODI match up!

The Pakistanis havnt been having a good time with the ball so far, they've had some frustrating moments. Many of them came when the ball was nicked through vacant slip positions. However they did get some breakthroughs when a run out chance was created, we thought there was no need for this type of running as Vincent was striking some good fours, but the Kiwis obviously felt that they needed to get every run possible.

Pakistan then got another breakthrough when Abdul Razzaq bowled a great slower ball completly decieving the batsmen and rattling the stumps. This was a good piece of bowling and could have put the Kiwi innings to an end quickly. But Ross Taylor showed some good form and has been striking the ball as clean as ever. They will need him to stick in their and score a big one if the black caps are to win this match up!

Good start from New Zealand, and it looks a very flat pitch. If they can keep wickets in hand for the last 10 overs then they have a real chance of winning this. Pakistan will kick themselves if they lose this one.

Vincent and Fleming gave New Zealand a decent start, scoring rather quickly, and thankfully for them Taylor and Marshall have continue the run chase in style. Pakistan put on a mammoth total which I think will be too much for New Zealand but at this rate they shouldn't be completely marked out of the game. If Pakistan can get some quick wickets then they will be in complete control, but at the moment the match is in the balance.

Great presentation, Punk.

PAKISTAN TAKE FIRST ODI!

Pakistan have shown some good skill and dominence required to make them one of the top sides in the cricketing world once again. They crush the black caps to claim their first win away from home. This victory is pleasing every supporter as its letting them know that they will keep fighting if their at home or away. They have played a well fought match and will be in high spirits from this point onwards!

The bowlers did their part wonderfully, although some decisions weren't correct the Pakistanis bowled in the right areas and deserved to get the wickets. Some wickets were gifted to them when the Kiwis tried to push for them quick single which had really bad communication. The Kiwis could have taken the match at any point even with three or four wickets down, but bad decisions and good bowling handed the match to Pakistan for a good first win to this series!

That was bit disappointing performance from Kiwis.. Even the minnows have the habit of playing the full quota of 50 overs.

And by the way, keep up the great works :) And on screenies, it is, "www.espnstar.com", the official website of starsports, cricket and espn

Easy win for Pakistan in the end but as Suren said, it wasn't the best of performances from New Zealand. The top order perfromed well but couldn't convert their starts and their middle order couldn't do either. Hoepfully Pakistan can keep up the good form in the following games.

Loving the updates Punk, as I seem to do in all your stories.

PAKISTAN IN NEW ZEALAND, 3 ODI's, 2 TESTS!
NATIONAL BANK ODI SERIES
PAKISTAN LEAD SERIES 1-0

PAKISTAN UNSURE ABOUT SELECTION!

Although the Pakistan team had a wonderful match last week against the Kiwi's with a convincing win, the good old PCB is unsure about some of the players in the team, and weren't shy on naming names. Imran Nazir has been put in the limelight as a player who doesn't seem to perform much, and that there is a list of guys waiting to get their chance back in the team, names like Hafeez, Farhat and Yasir Hameed.

All of those players have been rejected from time to time, Nazir is on his so called second chance. But we all know about his talent so we can only question why the PCB operate like this. The pressure will be on Nazir now which isn't a good thing as he is young and it might effect his gameplay, he loves playing his shots...it will be interesting to see how he works in this match!
