PC Airways (a new start)

Ok Hong Kong looks like it might be out of our reach by 100-200 miles. Remember that if we do not land with at least 45 minutes worth of fuel remaining, there are massive penalties for that pilot.

So unless you choose a other destination, I'll pick something around 800 miles away.

Still en route to Beijing, will finish the flight later today, I'm uploading a training video Covvy did of a single engine flame out on approach with a successful landing.

Dutch I'm using the default 737-400 with a custom paint job that I got from a flight sim forum.

I actually purchased the PMDG 737 which is awesome and way more realistic but my computer lags when I run it :(

All the suggestions for where we should fly next were over 1000 miles except for Hong Kong, which is where we will be going.

and CHoie will be flying with Covvy as first officer.

@ User, I forgot to make your guy, but don't worry he is part of the current group

Also:

We have purchased a Cessna Grand Caravan Amphibian (sea plane) and Riz Khan will be the pilot who is getting his sea plane certification and will then be based in the West Indies, flying short hops between the islands.

Shame about the PMDG plane, Mark. There is no better add on company out there when it comes to realism. Hopefully when you get a new computer it will run well.

I used the PMDG 737 and 747 with a program called Flightcrew2k which added all the checklist call-outs and procedures to your flight. Very, very realistic.

Even a short flight would take me at least an hour to prepare even before I could think about getting taxi clearance.

I like this FSpassenger program too as it seems to add goals to the flying rather than just sight-seeing. I have understood that the new Flighsim will be much more geared to this kind of operation as well.

This thread is getting me interested in flightsimming again! Might just load it up again one of these days!

Yea I really need a new computer, hopefully I can transfer this save file to the new one, I have yet to figure out how to do that for FSpassengers.

Might need to get Flightcrew2k when I upgrade, I'll be moving to FSX as well.

The PMDG planes are awesome, you can start cold and dark with the 737 and it takes almost 30 minutes to fire that baby up!

Anyways I have a video uploading right now of a training exercise Covvy and the flight attendants did before this flight they are on.

Basically simple approach with a light crosswind, gear lowered about 1000ft above minimums and the number 1 engine flames out.

It was a drill to see how Covvy would handle the situation and to test the mettle of the flight attendants. No passengers were on board for the training exercise, video to be posted when it finishes uploading in about 30 mins.

Here's the video.

Remember this was a training exercise, so it didn't count statistically,

for the impatient people, the flame out is at 55 seconds

I am not here for a few days, and I see that people have been hired ahead of me :O

Yea too many people signed up initially and I had to be selective.

This story will be ongoing for a long time though, Flight Sim is the only game I play and it's very easy to do updates, so don't worry, I'll get you in somehow. I don't want too many people otherwise no one will advance in rank, it takes forever to rank up in this game.

Chewie you're flying the next leg of LS1's journey to Amsterdam. In Beijing now, where do you want to go? just keep in mind it was to be 1100 miles or less away.

If you don't reply by the evening I'll just pick a random location.

Other Pilot News:

Rick Adams: Flying short hops in a BeechCraft Baron around Amsterdam

Riz Khan: Flying sea plane around England

Ben Manning: Starting training today

Bilal Shuja: Grounded for lack of posts.

Full Name: Jack Teague

Sex: Male

DOB: 17 April 1992

The City (and Country) you would like to be based: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Thought I'd put my application out there for whenever you recruit.

Hmmm there's not much around Beijing in a 1100 radius. Probably have to head south towards India/Bangladesh I guess

Its cool! I love the fact that you have managed to make the story more interactive! Keep it going! :)

Damn I can't find anything close enough to Beijing :(

So we are just going to take a risk and head to Hong Kong :p hopefully we have enough reserve fuel to avoid the penalty.

Reminds me of one time when I tried to take the 737 across the atlantic, arrived in Shannon, Ireland with 9 minutes of fuel left!
