Contrary to the caption there, only my player and Gayle failed from the top 4 and it was Smith who scored that knock of 29 ball 43.

Now this should be the perfect XI:-

IRELAND v PAKISTAN
1st Semi-Final - T20 World Cup 2014

Ireland's Journey : Ireland started off the tournament as under-dogs, but they removed that tag and made themselves competitive in this league defeating strong teams South Africa, New Zealand and England. Now they expect a much more than the past three matches facing the best bowling unit in a ultimate stage, its a do or die for them this match. Best of Luck to Ireland and its captain Kelby Rogerson

Pakistan's Journey : Pakistan was on high hopes after their victory in Asia Cup defeating their arch-rivals. their players gave their best in all the matches, the captain himself lead his team to two big victories against two big teams(India and Australia). Now they are at a stage,in which only few teams have come. they can't underestimate the Irish and play light, they can't take them too serious too. Best of Luck to Pakistan and its captain Thomas Sully

Toss : Pakistan won the toss and they had no hesitation in batting first

Pakistan started their innings well with Nasir Jamshed and Ahmed Shehzad playing quickly, Nasir Jamshed departed in the fifty over, then Shehzad and Hafeez took over the control, adding ninety eight runs for second wicket partnership, soon they both went back to pavilion in less than two overs. the skipper took over the action scoring twenty four in just ten ball. Kelby Rogerson bowled a economical last over giving just eight runs and picking two big wickets. Pakistan looked like scoring 190 when Shehzad and Hafeez were batting, soon few quick wickets, Ireland back on track. Hope Pakistan can defend this total with their mighty bowling attack

Ireland openers started their innings slowly but picked up the pace slowly as the match went on. Pakistan took this as a advantage. with Junaid Khan giving just sixteen runs and picking up one wicket, then Saeed Ajmal gave his taste, picking four wickets in no time including a hat-trick. Poor Irish Batsmen couldn't fire, after a good opening partnership.

Man of the Match - Mohammad Hafeez
Mohammad Hafeez deserved that Man of the Match award, but not as Ajmal. it was his first MOTM award in this t20 world cup, Pakistan fans expect a lot more from Hafeez in the grand finale

Congrats Pakistan in qualifying for the Finals
Pakistan will either play West Indies or New Zealand in Final

WEST INDIES v NEW ZEALAND

West Indies Journey : West Indies started off the tournament with high hopes after trashing Englishmen 3-0 in their last T20 Series. They've won all the matches nearly, unless a blunder mistake against India. they started a new trend giving the part-timers to bowl in starting and specialist bowlers in the end. though it worked their lead bowler Sunil Narine wasn't given the ball to bowl. Anyway Best of Luck for West Indies and their Captain Dick Punani

New Zealand Journey : New Zealand came with a less hope with big contenders like South Africa, Sri Lanka and England. but they out-played all the team, but couldn't make four on four, lost their match against Ireland. their openers are one of the best in this tournament, they like hitting the ball out of park. New Zealand had no played any T20 Series before this World Cup, but still had a better performance than few teams which had a t20 series. Best of Luck to New Zealand and its Captain Michael NG

New Zealand bating was really and OD one. the West Indies bowlers took advantage of this picked wickets at right. Kane Williamson played on for long time but could score just twenty seven with one boundary. Sunil Narine showed his worth once again picking three wickets. he picked seven wickets in his last eight overs, beware Pakistan

West Indies too had the same experience has New Zealand, but survived the game with Pollard's well composed twenty three. Kyle Mills playing his first game has a good match picking three wickets for eighteen runs. other bowlers too, bowled well. the opening bowling wasn't good and ninety three was no where a defend able target against a batting line-up with stars like Smith, Gayle, Punani, Pollard.

Man of the Match - Sunil Narine
Sunil Narine yet again bags another MOTM award, two in two matches. we must wait whether he pick a hat-trick of MOTM Awards

Congratulations West Indies in qualifying for Final

Final : Pakistan vs West Indies

Good work on the presentation! :clap

Adding in Jamshed wasn't a bad idea, was never considering his aggressive mind and that also in T20, makes him unstoppable. Shehzad, my favorite talent in Pakistani team, with his aggressive mind-set, played a beautiful innings. He took the responsibility there and kept on scoring and scoring, no-one was able to stop him and that's a fact, when he starts scoring and has a mind of scoring big, becomes an unstoppable beast! Demoting Umar down the order helped us in many ways, he just wastes too many bowls when sent in the top order where Hafeez plays a mighty team-winning innings. Definitely a Hafeez type of innings this was. I came and contributed but could finish off the things we started. Misbah went quickly but I don't mind considering he doesn't play well when has to play fast but can as is reliable in just T20 and not internationals. Bowlers did the main job on securing us the match, everyone bowled terrifically, especially the master-mind Saeed Ajmal, he has been in his top form lately, picking up consistent wickets is his job but he just didn't do that, he controlled the economy as well and its a fact that when you take consistent wickets, you'll be economical as well and Ajmal proved that. Junaid and party helped Ajmal in taking wickets wihch's exactly what I wanted, contributions from bowlers. Overall, it was the all-round performance of my team which assured is the victory. Now the next match which will be against either the mighty Windies, who I fear a lose from or the Kiwis which will not be that difficult to defeat. The good thing about Pakistan in the do or die matches is that they never choke, yes they have a fear against it but they're confident enough to perform winning innings and I hope that is exactly what happens.[DOUBLEPOST=1409238603][/DOUBLEPOST]Looks like I'm a bit late posting this. :p[DOUBLEPOST=1409238701][/DOUBLEPOST]I'd like to keep the best and the winning combination of my team unchanged. :thumbs

So close, yet so far - I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Still, a mighty impressive performance to get so far, and hopefully it will earn us some more fixtures against the top teams.
