Just like before, the presentation is done brilliantly. :) And I cannot wait to see what happens.

P.S. I guess you are not going to continue your previous story, right? Just wondering.

I might continue the Chelsea story after this one finishes...

Oh ok. I got is on PS2 but even if the graphics are simple, it is still very realistic hard to keep your shots down and on target and the keepers don't pull off miraculous saves like in FIFA like they do all the time and the celebrations are mad. The only platform I can get FWC on is Wii and it will probably be ████ so I'm not getting it. Hope it comes out on PC.

Anyway, back on topic. I thought Landon Donnovan was a forward?

It would be like me making a cricket story about Pakistan and calling it the Paki Journey.
Really, I just thought Paki was just like calling an Australian an Aussie?

England v United States - Preview

39214644.jpg

Group C
Match: England v USA
Stadium: Royal Bafokeng Stadium, Rustenburg
Kick-off: Sat June 12, 7.30pm BST.

The opening game in the Group C brings together two countries, England and USA, with a history of close relations off the field but very little in the way of history on it. Except for one exception: the 1950 FIFA World Cup clash in Brazil which saw the Americans shocking their fancied opponents 1-0. With Slovenia and Alegria also in the same group, this game could be very important in the fight for qualifying places.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
P9: England 7, Draws 0, USA 2
1950 (Belo Horizonte, WC): England 0 USA 1
1953 (New York, friendly): USA 3 England 6
1959 (Los Angeles, friendly): USA 1 England 8
1964 (New York, friendly): USA 0 England 10
1985 (Los Angeles, friendly): USA 0 England 5
1993 (Boston, friendly): USA 2 England 0
1994 (London, friendly): England 2 USA 0
2005 (Chicago, friendly): USA 1 England 2
2008 (London, friendly): England 2 USA 0

KEY CLASH
Wayne Rooney v Oguchi Onyewu
Onyewu spent the most of last season with the physio at AC Milan and was a surprise inclusion in Bradley's final squad for the World Cup. He now faces the task of stopping the inform Wayne Rooney who has scored 34 goals for Manchester United last season. Rooney will certainly fancy his chances, of course, although Onyewu’s work will no doubt be shared by the equally uncompromising, Jay DeMerit, formerly of Watford.

PROBABLE TEAMS
England (4-4-2): James, Johnson, King, Terry, A Cole; Lennon, Lampard, Gerrard, J Cole; Crouch, Rooney.
USA (4-4-2): Howard, Cherundolo, DeMerit, Onyewu, Bocanegera; Donovan, Clark, Bradley, Dempsey; Buddle, Altidore.

PREDICTION
USA will be up for it, England should be stronger, but they rarely start well, so this has draw written all over it. Probably it will be a goal scoring 1-1 draw.

England 1-0 United States - Half Time

franklampard001.jpg

Frank Lampard scores the opener for England

The players are out on the field, its the England national anthem first followed by the United States of America. There is Bill Clinton in the stands and I am sure he will be hoping United States upset the Three Lions. England are in their all whites and United States are in their all navy blue jersey. England will kickoff.

83367795.jpg

3' - Landon Donovan loses the ball near the half line to Gerrard. Gerrard passes the ball to Rooney who finds Lennon on the right wing. Lennon skips past Bocanegra and Onyewu and passes the ball back to Rooney just outside the box. Rooney shoots but it doesn't trouble Howard.

ls-timeline-yellow.gif
8' - We have our first booking of the game. Jay DeMerit fouls Wayne Rooney - who is looking very lively - 25 yards out and receives a yellow card. Probably a harsh decision by the referee. Frank Lampard takes the freekicks but its way off target.

12' - Michael Bradley is fouled 30 yards out by Frank Lampard. Landon Donovan takes the freekick, over the wall but straight in the hands of David James.

21' - Good passing by the Americans, Dempsey finds Bradley who finds Altidore. Altidore skips past Ledley King and has a shot from 20 yards but that way off target.

28' - Wayne Rooney loses the ball near the American's box and the Americans counter with Clint Dempsey on the ball. The Fulham man goes pass Glen Johnson and beat Ledley King and has a shot from 25 yards but the shot is over David James' goal.

36' - England keeping possession and passing ball in the Americans half. Frank Lampard find Steven Gerrard who drifts in from the left. The England skipper has a shot from the edge of the penalty area but it is blocked by Jay DeMerit.

ls-timeline-goal.gif
43' - GOAL!!! England 1-0 United States. Glen Johnson takes the throw in and throws the ball to Steven Gerrard who crosses in the box. Onyewu clears the ball as only to Emile Heskey at the edge of the area. Heskey finds Lennon on the right wing and Lennon crosses. Poor clearances by Bradley as he clears it only to Frank Lampard in the box. Lampard shoots and beats Tim Howard from 10 yards.

79397469.jpg

45' - United States try to equalise before the break itself. Michael Bradley finds Clint Dempsey on the left and Dempsey easily skips past Glen Johnson. Dempsey crosses in the box and Findley has a diving header deflected by James onto the bar from 10 yards and later cleared away by Ashley Cole.

ls-timeline-whistle.gif
45 + 2' - Referee blows the whistle for half time and England lead thanks a to a Frank Lampard goal just before half time. United States could have equalised during injury time but England were lucky.

Match Stats

1 - Goals - 0
6 - Shots - 6
3 - On Target - 2
3 - Fouls - 1
47% - Possession - 53%
0 - Corner Kicks - 0

England 2-0 United States - Full Time

englandvcroatiafifa2010.jpg

Wayne Rooney celebrates England's second goal with his team mates

49' - United States start offensively. Bradley dispossess Lampard and passes the ball to Donovan on right who crosses in the box and Altidore heads it wide.

54' - Gerrard wins the ball from Altidore and passes it to Lennon who runs and skips past Bradley and then plays a neat one-two with Emile Heskey. Lennon shoots from just out of the box and the shot is wide of the left hand post.

ls-timeline-yellow.gif
66' - Lennon who is looking dangerous for Bocanegra on United States' left side is fouled by Onyewu and the AC Milan defender receives the second caution of the match. Lampard curls the freekick, Gerrard heads it but straight in the hands of Tim Howard.

74' - United States building an attack by keeping possession in England half. Dempsey crosses from the left and cleared away by Ashley Cole. Michael Bradley wins the ball from Lampard at the half line and passes to Findley who finds Altidore with acres of space. The former Hull City striker shoots from 20 yards but James gets an hand to it and its a USA corner.

ls-timeline-sub.gif
76' - Rangers winger DaMarcus Beasley comes on for Landon Donovan and Emile Heskey is replaced by Jermain Defoe.

ls-timeline-sub.gif
82' - Bob Bradley sends on Edson Buddle for Maurice Edu as United States go in search for the equaliser.

ls-timeline-sub.gif
87' - Shaun Wright-Phillips comes on for Aaron Lennon, who is holding his thigh as he makes way for the Man City winger.

ls-timeline-goal.gif
90' - GOAL!!! England 2-0 United States. Thats the winner.. Great counter attacking football by England. Substitute Wright-Phillips wins the ball near the England box and with his pace he skips past Beasley and Bocanegra and passes the ball to Wayne Rooney at the edge of the United States box. Rooney takes the ball on his favourite right foot and shoots.

41576515.jpg

ls-timeline-whistle.gif
90 + 3' - Thats its. England register their first win of the tournament over the United States. The scoreline is a bit to harsh for the Americans who dominated the possession and had a couple of very good chances. But in the end the team who take their chances win and today it was England.

Match Stats

2 - Goals - 0
10 - Shots - 10
6 - On Target - 5
3 - Fouls - 3
0 - Yellow Cards - 2
49% - Possession - 51%

Yanks is usually regarded as a derogatory term. Yankees would be more appropriate but still only describes the North East coast.

It would be like me making a cricket story about Pakistan and calling it the Paki Journey.

I think yank could be taken offensively, but I don't see how Paki is offensive, although some do. It's only Pakistan shortened tbh. Like calling me an Aussie, imo no harm done.

Anyway, your stories and your presentation are always quality Shantanu.

Paki is more offensive when you actually say it in an aggressive tone, or when you say it to someone who isn't actually from Pakistan.

Some surprise results there, pretty much completely different from the real thing.

Bradley - We'll improve against Slovenia

bobbradley006.jpg

Bob Bradley will go back to the drawing board after United States lost their opening game of the World Cup finals 2-0 to England.

The 2009 Confederations Cup finalist looked short on class in Rustenburg and fell to defeat in the Group B fixture following goals by Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney. United States have now lost three out of the four matches at World Cup finals and must remedy that statistic to have a chance of reaching the knockout phase.

Bradley, coaching at a World Cup for the first time in his career, was disappointed to see his team slip to defeat in their opening fixture. Slovenia who lost to Algeria with same score are United States's next opponents on Friday and Bradley will assess the performance against England to determine what needs to be improved.

"I'm always disappointed to lose a match, whether it's in the World Cup or a friendly game," said Bradley. "We'll go to Johannesburg now and analyse what went wrong factually and try and improve for our next game. England played very well, they fought hard, they used their chances, we didn't."

Slovenia v United States - Preview

worldcupsloveniausausas.jpg

Group C
Match: USA v Slovenia
Stadium: Ellis Park, Johannesburg
Kick-off: Fri June 18, 3:30pm BST.

Victory will dominate the thoughts of both Slovenia and USA on Friday as they meet for the first time, with both capable of taking their own big step in the direction knock out stages. A draw would ratchet up the suspense in Group C ahead of the last round of games, but both sides will feel equipped to emerge victorious, Slovenia and United Stars both having lost their first match, makes this match very important for both the teams.

KEY CLASH
Tim Howard v Samir Handanovic
If United States keep a clean sheet then they will be back on track for a place in the knockout stages, so Howard will have to be on top form to stop a potent Slovenia attack. The Everton stopper has caught the eye in England over the past few seasons and, is rarely beaten from crosses, while he is often one for the spectacular. At the other end, Udinese goalkeeper Handanovic conceded two cheap goals against Algeria but will play tomorrow for his country. His agility and reflexes will play a key part in Slovenia's defence.

PROBABLE TEAMS
Slovenia (4-4-2): Handanovic, Suler, Brecko, Jokic, Cesar; Kirm, Koren, Radosavljevic, Birsa; Ljubijankic, Novakovic.
USA (4-4-2): Howard, Cherundolo, DeMerit, Onyewu, Bocanegera; Donovan, Edu, Bradley, Dempsey; Buddle, Altidore.

PREDICTION
Both team lost their opening match and they need to win this one if they stand any chance to make it through. This will make this game a very open one and USA just have enough in the bank to avoid an upset.
