Bad luck for India. They were playing so well in the tournament. Well Australia havenot won their semi-final yet but if they do then England will be a very tuff team to beat in the finals considering their current form.

good luck ashu! if australia lose to new zealand (which they 99.9999% wont!), who will you play as in the final?

If you want, I dont mind you playing as England but we earlier decided that if one of us doesnt go to final then the other team will be cpu. But I dont mind you playing as England for final. Right now I am very busy but I will complete the semifinal before sunday and we can start final on sunday.

No man! I would rather concentrate on my other Twenty20 tournament now! I want to finish it soon to plunge into our mega India vs Australia test series!

So you go ahead with the final! I hope you're not upset with this!

no problem buddy. I hope I can win another tournament for Australia so that they go to India with a positive frame of mind.

McCullum and Marshall completes a 50 runs partnership. This was finally broken by Symonds when Marshall top-edged a pull and Symonds took a simple catch off his own bowling and reduce New Zealnd to 124/6

After Marshall it was just a question of how much New Zealand tail can resist. But it showed no resistance except Vettori who made not out 26 and whole New Zealand ws bundled out for only 167 runs.

Hogg was the most wicket taker as he picked up last three wickets. Mcgrath was the pick of bowlers again. Now Australia need to score 168 runs to meet England in final. If Bond can struck early then it wont be easy for Australia.

Australian openers Gillchrist and Hayden are coming to the ground while Fleming makes adjustment in the field. Everything is set for the Australian inning as they require 168 runs to qualify for final match with England.

The match is not over yet as Shane Bond strucks Gillchrist LBW on the first ball of the inning. It was a very fast inswinging yorker from Bond and it struck Gillchrist's pad in front of wickets and umpire raised his finges. So Australia is 0/1.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting and Hayden keeps Australia away from another wicket as they adds 55 runs among them in 9 overs.

In tenth over Fleming brings Butler to attack and he gets Hayden LBW out in exactly same way as Gillchrist. Once again a good inswinging yorker brings a wicket for New Zealand. Hayden once again gets out after a good start. This bring Martyn to the crease and Australia is 61/2 in 10 overs as they still need 107 runs to win at a run rate of 2.67.

Ponting completes his well played 50 off just 42 deliveries. A very good aggressive inning.

Shane Bond strucks once again as he makes sure Australia doesnt get an easy victory. First he had Martyn edged to Siclair at first slip for only 13 runs.
Next to go was Ponting who gave an easy catch at covers while trying to hit over Mid-on. So at the end of 15 overs Australia is 101/4 while they still need 67 more runs to win with 6 wickets in hand. Right now Katich and Clarke are on crease for Australia.

Australia has now reached very close to victory as Katich and Clarke builds up a good partnership and took the score to 151/4 in 25 overs. Now Aussies need only 17 runs to win the second semi-final match.

Katich and Clarke have added 50 runs so far for fifth wicket. Both batsmen looked to just ick singles without taking any risk at all and smashing poor deliveries all the way to ropes. Bond picked up three wickets and was the only one to create some trouble but he also got the most hammering from Katich and Ponting earlier as he gave away 72 runs in his spell of 10 overs.

Australia will face England in the final of Planetcricket Super Tournament

Katich and Clarke levels the score with a single. They added 65 runs for fifth wicket. Then Clarke was caught at long-on to Butler as tries to get the winning run by hitting six but ended up giving an easy catch to Fleming. That brings Symonds to the crease and he completes the formality of winning run.

So In the end, Australia defeated New Zealand by five wickets in semi-final of PC Super Cup.

Post Match Interview

Fleming - "The Australian team played like a champions today and we were no where nea them in whole match. We did not bat well earlier and gave away our wickets. We didnot give enough total to our bowlers to defend and it was really hard to expect something from our bowlers with that target."

Ponting - "It was a really good match for our team. Our bowlers were superb in first inning and they completely backed my decision of bowling first. After the initial venomous spell of Mcgrath it was just a matter of fact how easilly we can now pull this win. Now the final is going to be tough one but with this big win our boys will be in a great form in the final."
