If you take ODIs into consideration, Tendulkar with ease for me.
Dravid held fort for us for the bulk of this decade. Sachin was out for a year or two because of back problems then later the tennis elbow.
But for India, i'd go with Anil Kumble. Our biggest matchwinner for sure. For the Indian team you expect the batters to do well. Kumble was the leader of the bowling attack, stood up with no real back up, and bowled marathon spells with a big heart and fiery attitude. Don't forget his 10 wicket haul either.
I believe he was bigger for India than Murali and Warne were for their respective nations as he was the only threatening bowler, the only one you could throw the ball to and know that he would give his best, bowl as a leader and contain one end to keep the batsman under wraps. Warne had McGrath, Gillespie, Lee etc and Murali had Vaas. Only till recently did Kumble have a really strong partner in Zaheer.
