Compared with Cricket 2002 it sucks.

I was hoping for a lot of changes, such as a trophy cabinet, domestic competitions, etc. They are all there, which is good. However, what they should have done is simply added them to the old game. Not changed everything.

The aniomation is not as good, it detracts from the actual gameplay. The umpire takes up half the pitch, and you often cannot see where the ball is pitching if it is short. The window with the running batsmen in 2002 should have been left in, not replaced with symbols running. The running between wickets is much poorer also, often there is a delay which causes a run out, regardless of how quickly you press the button for another run.

For some reason during the games when I change the field settings, they do not change at all, and I am simply given some sort of default. This is crap when you are trying to set up a certain batsman but cannot put a fielder in that position. I have also had the game freeze on me for no apparent reason several times, often during an innings break without saving.

EA Sports had a great thing with 2002. They should simply have added changes to it, not changed the whole look.

Other good things are the statistics and scorecards, they are better now. I don't like the fact the world cup is now called the world championship, but that is minor.

Given the success of 2002, and how much time they had to make a better one, EA Sports have let themselves down. After waiting excitedly for this game for ages, I shall be returning it and hanging onto my copy of 2002.

they only named it the World Championship coz they would have to pay extra for naming rights. :D

are you kidding?sure the game is not the best game but it's worth getting.compared to 2002 it's the best game ever made(huge exaggeration i know).it's got better graphics or are you blind?get a grip dude.

2002 ssssssssssssssuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkssssssssssssssssss.

Frankly those who complain that this game sucks need their heads examined. I wont say that this is the best game ever, but that its a definite improvement over Cricket 2002.
The strokes are very good, very realistic.
The only complaint I have is that its very very hard to play a pull shot, as the ball tends to go over the batsmans head when its short and the batsman tends to get hit if the ball is fuller than that.

Also as for the keeper fielding the ball, well it may be okay for spinners, but it sucks for quickies, 'cos the keeper always always throws the ball back to the bowlers end.

Also the difficulty modes actually live up to their name, bcos Hard is VERY Hard. Ive been playing all the cricket games released for the past thirteen years and I only managed to score 89/3 after 22 overs versus England in an ODI. You really really have to time the ball and sometimes even thats not enough.

The second i got the game i switched over to hard right off the bat (sorry for the pun) and was carried down the sh*t creek.

The bowling actions are 'okay'. Nothing bad or good about them.

The faces are disappointing though only a few bastman and bowlers look like their real life counterparts.

And also the batsman edge the ball early in their innings a lot. So thats a bit more realism. The only glaring error I saw was the presence of white side screens during one dayers.

A few bugs are present but nothing that time and a few patches will iron out.

:D :D :D

at least there is a pull shot. and from the vid ive seen it looks class

I must agree the pull shot is hard as to play. Infact my best pullshot is against a spinner. Iots just too hard to hit.
Graphics are fine apart from the faces which is worse than 02
Gameplay is alright. Batting is pretty accurate although it is pretty simple to hit 6s in the orginal difficulty level. The confidence metre is awesome and it forces u to get set.
Hitting the spinners and especially the seamers for boundary is extremely hard.
When bowling it is hard as to get the cpu batters out. To make things worse they score a heap of runs even if u bowl line and length or the yorker.
A good example of this was in the WC vs SL when they batted first and made 190 odd in a 10 over match and then i got 150 odd in the 10. Virtually impossible to stop the attacking batters with any bowler as well.
Maybe i need more game time with bowling but overall not too bad game.
