Tendulkar at his magical best -Tendulkar?s 98 against Pakistan in 2003 world cup at Centurion

Tendulkar?s 98 against Pakistan at Centurion is one of the rare one man demolition one has seen against the best attacks of the world Shoaib, Waqar & Wasim.

Delivery after delivery of Waqar and Shoaib were dispatched to all parts of the ground in a ruthless fashion. Tendulkar?s one man destruction of Pakistan attack demoralized Pakistan completely and even a formidable score of 273 for 7 by Pakistan looked easily gettable This is how the Pakistan famed pace attack looked after Tendulkar Blitzkrieg.

Shoaib: 10 overs no maiden 72 runs 1 wicket.

Waqar: 8.4 no maiden 71 runs 2 wickets.

Wasim off course had a comparatively respectable figure.

10 overs no maiden 48 runs 1 no wicket.

Shoaib eventually outfoxed him at 98. But the run riot of Tendulkar took the game out of Pakstan and subsequently they exited from the tournament.

Tendulkar?s marvel of 98 in 75 balls ( RR : 130.66) contained 12 glorious fours and 1 towering six that will long be remembered by many.

For those readers who have not seen this I strongly recommend you see that.

Highlights of this innings is available in YouTube.

Here are the steps to get there.

Type YouTube in google.

Type INDIAN INNINGS OF INDIA vs PAKISTAN WC 2003 in search box of utube.com.

Click on INDIAN INNINGS OF INDIA vs PAKISTAN WC 2003.

Boy that was Cricket at it?s best!

Sachin?s 134 against Australia in 1997-98 at Sharjah

This was pretty much a Sachin Vs Australia final held at Sharjah in 1997-98.

India was set a challenging total of 273 to win by Australia.

India started nervously losing Ganguly at 39. But fortunately Tendulkar found two able partners in Mongia and skipper Azharuddin. Both these batsman kept one end intact for a reasonable time as their contributions of 28 and 58 respectively suggest. In a awesome display of batting of highest Quality Sachin tore the Australian attack by carving out a gem of innings of 134 managed in only 131 balls with 12 glorious fours and 3 majestic sixes that took the game out of Australia?s reach and India eventually went on to win the match by 6 wickets.

Final Scores:

Australia:272 for 9 all out in 50 overs.

India: 275 for 4 wickets in 48.3 overs winning the match by 6 wickets.

Cheers!

Sachin?s 82 against New Zealand at Auckland, 1993/1994

Sachin?s 82 against New Zealand at Auckland, 1993/1994

Sachin before this One day match against New Zealand played for India only as a middle order batsman.

It so happened that the regular opener Navjot Sidhu was down with a stiff neck and could not make it to the eleven . So the team management took a chance by asking Sachin to play as an Opener. He responded in style by blasting a hurricane innings of 82 in just 49 balls with some incredible shots (15 boundaries and 2 sixes). It appeared he was seeing the ball as big as a balloon.

This innings announced the birth of a World Class Opener. Ever since he never looked back.He went from strength to strength and to this day remains a champion batsman and has scored heavily as an opener for India.

Final Scores:

New Zealand: 142 all out in 49.4 overs.

India: 143 for 3 wickets in only 23.2 overs winning the match by 7 wickets.

Cheers!

Sachin?s 186* against New Zealand in 1999-2000 at Hyderabad

Sachin?s 186* against New Zealand in 1999-2000 at Hyderabad

Sachin?s knock of 186* against New Zealand in 1999-2000 at Hyderabad showed if the circumstances warranted he could curb his aggressive approach and play according to the merit of the situation. India lost Ganguly very early in the second over when the score was only 10 on board. Realizing the early loss he put his head down, curbed his natural aggression and played a controlled yet a majestic innings that bore pure class and timing. He occupied the crease for 221 mts facing 150 balls and executed 20 exquisitely timed boundaries and 3 glorious sixes. He stayed till the end to ensure that India was able to post a challengeable total.India?s mammoth total of 376 for 2 was too much for New Zealand and they were shot out for mere 202 runs in 33.1 overs and they comfortably won by a huge margin of 174 runs. Sachin as expected was declared Man of the match.

Final Scores:

India: 376 for 2 in 50 overs.

New Zealand: 202 all out in only 33.1 overs

India convincingly won the match by 174 runs.

Cheers!
