Should I buy DBC 17

I disagree with this point. If you release a game thats not 100%, these 'multiple patches free of charge' isn't a gift...its fixing something that was broken AND SOLD to begin with. Not to say that BA hasn't done a fantastic job of trouble shooting, etc but thats the problem with the whole industry right now...'lets get it 80% there, promise the world and release it...get the money in, then release the balance 20% and fixes as 'look what we did for you'. Now I'm not aiming this at BA - this is more a gripe about the whole industry with games being rushed out unfinished. Why is it then we have huge Day 1 patches??

Yes I know its a business, and one that we all support and benefit from. But we also shouldn't pay full price for something that isn't finished and then be thankful for 'free patches' when it really should have been in the game to begin with. Take off your developer hat, and put on your average gamer/customer/consumer hat and you'll see what i mean.
So you are still playing GTA 1 ?

Snowy replied in context to OP calling DBC17 as patch fix which it is utterly not, just the amount of new features from women cricket, stadium creator, mod portability to consoles, new bowling and fielding mechanics etc can go on. Honestly if the OP calls these as patch fix i wonder what he calls fifa.

Now to your point, DBC 14 did have fixing patches till 2.5 i think but more to do with balancing and tweaking to people's needs, cause its their first edition, rather than fixing a lot of broken things. The only thing i would put in category of fix would be online fixes we got to improve it and the save file corruption a few got.

Also even with patches they kept adding new things for free like modding support for pc, New Shots, co-op albeit promised one etc.

I do get what you are saying in general about games nowadays quite a few do that or keep game in early access for long, a bit like It companies that stay in valuation period instead of going out for the product, this not me defending BA or anything but i think given the climate they are way too good to be put in these categories.

As others have said, we added functionality in patches, that was for free.

Hard to take this thread seriously with comments like "less broken, no" coming from someone that has not played the new release and therefore could not ascertain relative quality - borders on Trolling.

It's just an attention seeking thread. Wants people to convince him, but will argue otherwise on every point. Move on.

Wider picture: like cricket? Only cricket game out there? Want to support future development of cricket games?

Or just don't buy it, no one really cares.

I feel bad just feeding his attention seeking by replying.

Couldn't agree more.. No new topic should ever contain the word "I"in it. Put your question in the general discussion topic.

Exactly.

"Should I buy DBC 17"

It's upto you to decide. No one forced u to buy neither stopping u from buying. Wait till 31st Dec or some more days. Watch some gameplay videos. Then u decide whether to buy it or not.

Q: Should I buy DBC17?

A: If you want to play a new quality cricket game and help support the development of further cricket games to achieve greater and greater standards, Yes.

^ I know... How is this thread still going ... :lol

lol sorry I should have responded to the original question first which is 'should i buy?' - my response is hell yes. Until DB17 comes out (2 weeks?), we discuss and debate and bitch and whinge as the suspense builds.
