Skipped games v played games: how do you play ICC?

Im just getting back onto ICC after the failure of Ahses Cricket 09, but Im wondering what balance people have between the amount of games they simulate and the amount they play. To play a whole season takes and eternity, yet whenever I simulate I get spanked. How does everyone 'play' the game. And what difficulty is the best? Ive been playing on normal.

Doesn't take an eternity. Depends on who you are. I played with Pakistan because SA never get any good regens. I got beat pretty badly, but then after two years pieces fell in place and currently I'm first in both tests and ODI's and just won the 2015 World Cup.

Just take things easily at first. Unless you are Australia or England you will struggle at first, but then things should ease up as you get used to your players and learn how to get the best out of them. I never skip, but I do skip 3 day matches sometimes, but I usually still win those.

yeah never skip, as i always lose. The only games i skip are 20/20 games as they dont really matter.

PS: I'm still playing Ashes edition 2006 as it is miles better than the newer ones, in my humble opinion. :D

skip 20/20's and play all the rest

20/20's are too short and they have no meaning especially as theres no rankings table for them....

I skip all int. 20/20 matches. Pointless imo.

Used to skip all ODIs too but I've now found out I really enjoy them now!

Never skip tests...

I can't believe you guys skip T20's. I play with Sri Lanka and they hardly get any unless they play Australia, New Zealand, England or South Africa. Its something that they should fix for 2010. Plus the T20 World Cup.

Does skipping a game affect your teams skill much? I tend to skip if I'm getting hammered in a 4-day game, but I'm weary of damaging my teams morale.

I am playing ICC 06 , as Surrey, and right now in my 2030 season. :) I started playing this game from April 2007...so which means from past 2 and half years, I am playing :D......NEVER SKIPPED A GAME :)..... even if I am assured of the title....I never skip the remaining league matches....I play even those dead matches though with a bit of less interest...... :p & try out my bench strength.....

You are less likely to win if you skip matches. But you can't skip matches whilst you are playing one, you're not confusing that with autoplay, are you?

Oh right yes I presumed that's what we were talking about. No I never skip a match without going into it first, like treva says it just seems pointless.
