Someone Plz find a way to remap the control keys.

I play Cricket 2005 using a 10 button gamepad and it is extremely frustrating to hit a six using the default keys. Even otherwise, it is tough to change from the keys that I am used to in Cricket 2004. This is the most irritating thing in cricket 2005. I wonder what made the game developers remove this essential feature?

Other good features missing since Cricket2002:

1. Unique faces for every player.

2. Diff. in players height.

I wish the game developer could improve the game without removing the good points from the previous games.

If you're using a gamepad you can use JoyToKey to configure the keys to whatever you want.

Infact, I quite forgot that my gamepad came with its own software to remap keys. I had bought the gamepad more than 5 yrs back and I always remap the keys from within the games, so I never load the software to save on memory. Thx, for reminding me.

I have got an old Creative 10 button digital gamepad which connects using a gameport. I am using Win98SE.

I am still not able to reconfigure the control buttons. I tried both the default creative software and joy2key.

With joy2key, I was able to type s,d,w,a etc. on notepad but it doesn't work in the game. Tried selecting gamepad, keyboard as well as gamepad+keyboard but nothing works. The game always use the default key. I used joy2key 3.74.

Anyone can help me here?

I am really stuck here as I can't use the power button. I hope somebody comes up with a patch/editor to reconfigure the buttons.

I have selected gamepad only, keyboard only and gamepad+keyboard options ingame. If I select keyboard, then the gamepad doesn't work and if I select the other 2 options, the game uses the default keys. Joytokey is open when I play the game.

Anyway, I like playing cricket one2one with friends (myself on gamepad and friends using keyboard). I am assuming that wouldn't be possible if I use joy2key.

Instead of enjoying the game, I have wasted a lot of time trying to reconfigure the keys. Damn HB studios for overlooking this simple stuff.

I just hope someone comes up with a solution soon.

It is possible to play with friends, one on keyboard, one on joypad with JoyToKey. I've done it with my flatmate.

What exactly do u mean by selecting keyboard ingame? I thought that there is only one place to select the controller which is the same place where u select the teams or am I missing something here?

If u select the keyboard for one team, then either u select the gamepad for the other team or if u don't, the comp. will take over the other team. As far as I know, one cannot select keyboard for both teams.

As for me, if I select keyboard, the gamepad doesn't work and when I sellect gamepad, it works with the default keys.

Also, if with joytokey u have to assign the keyboard to a team, then how is it possible to assign the keyboard to another team?

Ok, I've read back through the thread and I'm still a bit baffled so what I'll do is post the config I use and tell you exactly how I do so.
(place the file in the joy2key folder)
Open joy2key. Run it in the background while you play the game with c2k5 selected
At the controller select screen use the mouse or keyboard to select the keyboard icon. Leave the joypad unselected. Use the joypad ingame.
If that doesn't work (and from what you've said it sounds like it won't, try borrowing someone elses joypad and seeing if that works). To play 2 player, both on joypad what I did was use joy2key so keyboard used controller 2 and used controller 1 as the default joypad.
