This will not help already dying Sri Lanka. Although they won against Indian in CT, the team overall is just not upto international standard. Also there is no talent coming in for them.

Gotta feel sad for Matthews. He is a great guy. Sad to see him give up captaincy like this.

He was a pretty good captain and still is a good batsman, but when Sanga and Mahela retired everything fell apart for him. I think he was frustrated by the fact his team isn't able to churn out wins like before.

There needs to be something done about the domestic structure.Too many teams in their tournaments. If teams are shortened, it would be more competitive. Look at Australia for instance. They only have a few teams in domestic, and they produce good cricketers all round. India and England have many teams but still maintain the same competitiveness throughout.

I agree. It's so sad to see a team which was the contender of the world cup 3 years ago doing such poor performance.

Are you sure ? As far as I remember nobody thought of Sri Lanka been a contender for the WC post 2015 WC. They have won almost nothing in that period
