What a game on Saturday Jan 13th. Especially the sledging.

1) Our #4 was hitting a nice row of 6's. He hit like 7 6's off 11 balls. He was caught buy quite a large (wide) fellow on the boundry who just happened to be the bowlers brother.
BOWLER: "Ha couldn't hit that for 6 could ya"
BATSMAN: "oh s*** am i out? thought he was the sightscreen"

2) I was out @ square leg umpiring while our #5 (very defensive) bastsman was batting. Blocking ball after ball straight down the pitch.
FIELDER: "don't get this guy out...the next guy might know how to bat"

There were heaps more that i just can't remember.
Funny day but

My favourite sledge to make is when I'm batting, if my partner plays and misses one, especially if he just wound up and tried to hit a huge six, as soon as all the "ohh" stuff dies down, I yell out a casual "Well left, we've got all day here"

And when the bowlers start carrying on about edges I assure them that I glided the ball.

on our sat game, there was an extremely dubious wide called, which was clearly not a wide, and our wk/captain had little to say. And it happened that the bat on strike was the other teams captain so he had a lot to say back. After about 2 mins of him just talking crap, our wk looks at him and goes "oi ****, get on with the game before we are all dead"

it didnt make too much sense but everyone laughed :)

There's a friendly chap I play with at times and when the opposition are smashing the ball to all parts his standard chirp for most of the game is, "Don't worry lads it's all edges."

Normally cheers us all up :)

I like Tassies sledge. I usually just jump up, put hands on head, go "ohhhh" and say "You were lucky" everytime I beat the bat :). Sometimes I just stare at them and laugh when they play a poor shot. Not much for words.

Its not much of a sledge, but in a league game a couple of seasons ago I hit a huge six out of the ground and the bowler gave me the meanest stare, I just casually looked at him and said "Fetch"

Made my partner laugh :D

Nice one's so far, so here's one to spoil them:p It might not be too funny, but on a good day, the fielding team can really get ticked off. While batting, if you knick a ball and doesnt carry, I would say to me partner "Im pretty good at late cutting aren't I, I just need to find the gap between the Wickie and the guy at 1st slip.
