The thing is the mostly do it against the spinners and unless they are playing Murali in Sri Lanka the chances of getting out are not likely.
I don't think so.

Like some said Warner is as good with his right hand as he is with his left and for him it probably isn't as big of a change to switch as it might be to some other batsman.
I don't think so.
Well you tell me how many times KP has gotten out to the shot and how many times has Warner got out to it.
Yeah, but do you think he'd do it anywhere but a T20? He didn't connect when trying. Only batsmen with no fear such as Pietersen, Warner, Sehwag, Dilshan and Gayle would play it. However, out of that list, only 2 seem to be capable of it.
Few Notes
KP:
- 'Switch Hit'
- Not fully Left handed
- Switches his bottom hand while he turns.
- No Cross grip
- Allowed
Warner:
- NOT 'Switch Hit'
- Commies calls it the "Right Handed" shot
- Cross grip
- Becomes totally opposite handed
- against the spirit of the game.
please change the thread title, as it can be very confusing. what Warner tried wasnt a switch hit. switch hit IS allowed. and its way different then what Warner did.
Title should be "Warner Hit" or "Opposite handed Hit"

Well KP has done it in tests and ODIs/T20. He did it against Harbhajan and against Murali.
Not sure about Warner because he hasn't played a test yet, he probably wouldn't but then I am not sure.
I doubt that Sehwag and Gayle would even attempt that shot. They can get it out of the park just standing like they are stuck in concrete.
:o it's not to say it is a "safe" shot
True, but it's still a massive risk, and a risk that is taken at your own peril in ODI and Test cricket, regardless of whether it's against a spin bowler or fast bowler. I don't think we'll see too many batsmen attempting it and those who do, will attempt it rarely. Not a big deal, I don't think.
exactly, if any bowler changed his hands in the middle of their delivery stride, it would be called a No ball, and I can see the batsman getting furious and going over to the umpire. bowler has to tell the umpire he is gonna bowl with the other hand or the other side of the wicket... and thats not fair...
But the bowler can bowl a fast ball and a spinner whenever he likes.
seriously how dumb is he. this is simple stuff, and he is making it hard. he also said "the batsman is attempting a difficult shot"But he isn't switching hands, he is using the same hand for all his deliveries.
Its the same thing as if a batsman hits you for 4 runs and you move the field back and the next ball he just drops it on the offside and takes a quick single. No big difference. Thats the same as your example.
