Thoongavanam is a good realistic film, but not great by any means. The screenplay lags at certain stages & feels a bit boring. Over all 3/5.

Vedalam - Strictly for Ajith fans. I just felt like watching Vijaykanth movies. Shruthi,Soori spoils the movie with unwanted comedy. Ajith's presence saves the movie. My rating 2/5.

Thoongavanam - Top notch, stylish and simply awesome. Racy screenplay with action sequences and bgm will never get you bored during that 2hrs. My rating 4/5.

Vedhalam - Bad, bad, bad and gets badder! Well it ain't gonna matter as Ajith fans have already made the film a hit, but the film is downright bad. Everybody looked tired and artificial in this film, includding Ajith who was worn out. A lot of gimmicks like that voice modulation ended up sounding so funny and awful. The good points (few and far inbetween) were Anirudh's music and BG score, and the camerawork. 1.5/5

Could you please tell what is the meaning of "theri" in tamil ? It's meaning in malayalam isn't a good one, that's why asking.

"Theri" means 'super', 'great', 'out of this world'. The word also resonates with fireworks and the word is currently often used for mass heroes to indicate that they are creating fireworks onscreen..

Thoongaavanam - Good Film, Interesting Story But Slow Screenplay
The story takes it own sweet time to explain it
If we ignore the fact of slow screenplay, it can be rated 3.5/5

Vedhalam has some 4 scenes where Ajith changes his expressions. Without them, the film is nothing. He done another villain sort of role here.
