Telemarketers

Anyone go anymore burns for me?:p

Nah, it's a common mistake. Besides chances are you're right about John being
a made-up name. You know, people make up names only because non-subcontinentals often give up on Indian names without even trying. I know it's a different phonetic structure and all that, but it's not that hard if you take it syllable by syllable, with tea on the side :)

Well,i just screw them.
You get all these calls from Banks and all-asking you as to why one arth have u not used the internet banking functions and stuff.

...Its not Australians that ring us up.

Just members of transnational subsidiaries who are employed by companies from Australia. I find it amazing that you blame the worker doing his job, not the owners of the companies who tell them to call you.

Do they tell them to be deliberately hard to understand, and impossible to get rid of? Probably, but still.

Once someone, a woman no less, called me up and when I told her I wasn't interested in buying her holiday packages, she asked me why, I said I'm not interested, and she kept asking me why. Honestly, most of them are actually based in India too, not in Australia.

Because its the worker who makes the call with the accent thats not understandable:p

Which makes it frustrating when someone calls you up, is hard to understand, is uninvited and is annoying you. It's not that we're blaming them, but we are annoyed by them.

Real call lol. I really want to do that now.

Is anyone here at PlanetCricket a telemarketer ;) hint hint

Cause youl be banned...

I actually worked as a telemarketer for ASM back in 2006, I was there trying to get people to book security systems with the company. I also worked as a door knocker with the same company I was trying to get people to sign up to get Maths and English products, as ASM means Australian Socialised Maths.

I actually thought the one company was Australian Security Monitoring which is where I was sent to work, turns out there was ASM Maths, and just ASM. Amazing no? Meh. I was a casual and they ran out of work early on so I became a door knocker the knob who I was working with was suppose to take me to Margate and Kingston to do doorknocking in October 2006 needless to say the guy never showed.

Thus I no longer worked there.
