The Chicken and Egg controversy

You sure about that? I've read in one of my dinsaurs books a while back that they developed over time with small dinosaurs and feathered things crossbreeding and evolving into moder birds. Myabe I need to re-read that part..
egad!

Well, here's a little evolution scenario:

single cellular> multicellular>algae>sea plants> land plants
single cellular> multicellular> fish> amphibians> land animals/ flying animals.

Birds/reptiles are evolutionary creatures of dinosaurs. They are smaller in size due to diminishing supply of oxygen.Which subsequently, effected their metabolism.

and a little detail on how birds seem to happen.

Fish> amphibians>(fins developing into wings) > simple flying creatures(they could sort of jump large distance)>dino creatures > modern birds.

Zorax, you've made this thread very interesting, not to mention hilarious. It goes to show that a number of people have many misconceptions regarding the theory of evolution, and find it very hard to grasp. I myself know very basic details. Sorry if I was a bit patronising earlier, but I couldn't help myself :).

P.S: Can a mod create a new topic called Evolution and merge this into that. Because we're getting very offtopic here.

I'd advise against that. Several people have great difficulty separating evolution from religion, so such a thread could lead to arguments. People can do their own research on the topic if they wish, I recommend www.talkorigins.org

Just for those interested in Evolution as a whole.

The infamous Western Diamond Back Rattlesnake found in the West of USA and Mexico, has been found on an island on the west coast of lower California (The peninsula on the west of Mexico), only through the years of it being there, it no longer had a Rattle, just a tail like ordinary Snakes.

I'm a snake freak btw.

there is another support of evolution.

I don't remember the exact island loc, as I read it quite sometime ago.

It is said that the island has same species on birds as the mainland, however, due to evolution, these birds have shorter and thicker beaks than mainland birds. It's due to fact that many 'eateries' found on the island are enveloped in a thick shell.
