The best trick of all that I have found out to restrict the runrate of both pc batsman as well as ourselves is to make the following changes in the config file fast.cfg,legspin.cfg,offspin.cfg and swing.cfg (These files can be found in the main dirctory - x:codemastersblc) :
RollingResistance is set to some number and lowering will slow down the rolling of ball after a shot is made. The ideal number that I have found out are the following :
(condition 0 refers to Damp Pitch
condition 1 refers to Green pitch
condition 2 refers to normal pitch
condition 3 refers to hard pitch
condition 4 refers to dusty pitch)
Change the RollingResistance in each of the above condition in the fast,offspin,legspin and swing files to the following
condition 0 : RollingResistance 64250
condition 1 : RollingResistance 64300
condition 2 : RollingResistance 64400
condition 3 : RollingResistance 64450
condition 4 : RollingResistance 64500
Result of the above changes :
1. Will restrict the runrate to near realism.
2. Boundries are hard to come by, you will need to time the short to perfection.
3. Game can adhere to only 2 fielders outside the 30 yard circle in the first 15 overs and still keep the runrate very realistic.
4. You will need to run that much harder and convert ones to twos and twos to threes.
5. Not easy to pierce the infield, will need good timing.
6. The ball wont roll over the crowd, hit the terrace and come back et al.
7. If you need quick runs in the first fifteen you will invariably have to go over the top.
There are few more impacts which at this point of time cant recall. If you guys find with any problem trying to do this, do feel free to mail me, I will send across the file that I am currently using.
