managed to win, despite bowling anthony (wortless bowl, worthless consistency, only went for about 80 runs though) ahead of mampe (strong bowle, strong cons)
it wasnt my fault, i changed the batting order to try out 2 people as openers (need 1 to cover cornes departure, who has been an ace opener) and forgot to move the bowling

Lost today, unsurprisingly but still disappointingly. I was away against a team with pretty equal batting to mine, slightly worse seam bowling, and much better spin bowling, playing on a dusty pitch, so I was always going to be up against it.
Bowled out for 232, was 95-7 before Basson (88*) and Stone (63) put on 118, highest scores for them both, Stone's first 50. The tail predictably collapsed when Stone got out.
They got 233-4 in just over 40 overs, Stiles 1-47, Stone 2-54 and Dodd 1-50 (cracking job, he's on 4 nets and played on moderate fitness). Not too bad, really. When I have the choice of pitch I'll give them a much closer game.

Same here.. Their batting and bowling was far better than mine but I still got to a reasonable 216/10 and I felt I had them worried when they were 180/5 in the 42nd odd over.. Reasonable bowling preformance.. Everyone kept it tight but the target was too small in the end..

but having bought i strong bowler i expect my cup ratings to be
respectable/superb

Respectable/mediocre, still a lot of work to do. That was playing Otto and Stiles as seamers, Stone, Hemmings and Dodd spinners (it was a dusty pitch). Does fitness affect ratings, as Dodd was only moderate?
With Ludlam being a respectable, I think the best I could achieve at the moment is Respectable/Competant, as it would mean leaving out Hemmings, so my Spin rating would probably improve. Proficient/Competant batting. Nor bad, but plenty of room for improvement.
